Well, it’s been a while since I posted anything but it’s Children’s Mental Health Week this week and the theme is Growing Together.

I thought I would share a few ideas with you. Here’s a daily mindfulness calendar from Twinkle (they have lots of free resources here - https://www.twinkl.co.uk/search?q=Children%27s+Mental+Health+Week&c=244&ca=23&r=parent&fl=0&fa=4.5.6.7 -mental-health-week-calendar-t-par-531) that you can try with children to help you all really focus for a few moments each day. Don’t forget to breath with purpose, and find time to relax- together.

It’s the International Day of Yoga tomorrow! Enjoy some fun, calming yoga with your children, such as Farm Fun, a themed session recorded during lockdown last year:

Or a brain boost with a short brain bomb:

Or relax with a short mindfulness exercise, suitable for children and adults:

Or simply get outside, breath deep and use your senses to enjoy the beauty of early summer.

Wishing all my little yogis a Happy Easter and a lovely break from school. I hope your days are filled with fun, friends and adventures (from exploring the garden to local parks and beauty spots).

Last year, I recorded an Easter Yoga session about an Easter egg hunt. If you would like to do some yoga this holiday, check out this yoga session, and more on the Yomitree website and Youtube pages.

I loved this poem before I had children, in my early days of teaching. I thought I would always be the parent who didn’t look back with regret, but did all those things in the poem like some amazing Earth Mother (oh the innocence of youth 😂).

In these challenging times however, we have the opportunity to spend more quality time with our children than ever. It’s easy to get caught up in the mundane, routine of life and to look at what we don’t have right now, but if we can flip our thoughts and look for opportunities instead, we could use this time wisely to connect, build relationships and to focus on the power of love. Happy Saturday everyone x

Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 31/01/2021

Well, it’s been a while! I hope you are all okay in the current madness...stay strong. Look for positives and enjoy the little things, no matter how small. Try to look at what you have rather than the things we are missing at this time.

This week is Children’s mental health week, but we mustn’t forget ourselves either. Take time for yourself this week, and your family too. Talk to your children; play with them; hold them. Love them. We can do this! Stay safe x

Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 The next Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. Next year's theme is Express Yourself.

I had such a great time yesterday at Primley Wood Play Scheme * https://www.facebook.com/primleywoodplayscheme/

Both bubbles enjoyed a full yoga session about sharing joy and passing on smiles, followed by learning a bit about the brain and how to use breathing to help calm us down. All the children were fabulous; I can’t wait to go back next week. I am thrilled to have permission to share these great photos of the children in action.

The school holidays are in full swing so I wasn’t able to do a new live session last week. I hope to do some in the next few weeks, but until then, please watch and enjoy any previous sessions with your little people, or head to my YouTube channel for more videos, some are short for when you need a ten minute breather (I call them brain bombs!)
