Sometimes running a livery yard looks like thisβ¦
You suddenly have an emergency with two poorly horses, two different vets at two completely different ends of the yard, an already extremely busy day, and simply not enough hands to be everywhere at once.
That is the side of running a yard that nobody really sees.
The rushing. The worrying. The constant checking. The long night ahead. Lunging, going backwards and forwards, trying to keep everything else running while your brain is in about ten places at once.
Weekends like this are difficult. Really difficult.
But they also remind us how unbelievably lucky we are to have the staff and liveries we have at Manor. When things go wrong, everyone just pulls together. We swap around, cover each other, take turns, help where we can and somehow get through it together. β€οΈ
We care deeply about every horse here, so when one of them is poorly, we feel it too. When two decide to do it at the same timeβ¦ well, apparently Manor likes to keep us humble. π
We are absolutely exhausted, but incredibly grateful that we seem to be coming out the other side of the drama.
Now, horses⦠PLEASE.
No more emergencies. No more vets. No more midnight lunging.
Can we all just be boring, healthy and completely uneventful for five minutes? ππ΄β€οΈ
