Setu Bandhasana or Bridge pose.
A great way to open the front of the body, to relax and be joyful. Take care to not strain the neck.

Vrikshasana or Tree pose.
Here we are at the Weigh Station. Goram, South Sudan in 2013. 6 months after this photo was taken these young refugee women were forced to flee. Our moments in life together are precious, what's certain today can be gone tomorrow. Life is like an ice cream, enjoy it before it melts.
Our lives go through many uncertainties and upheavals. Our centre is always there. Tree pose is a fast track way to connect. Some days we wobble more than others.

This pose opens the front of the chest. A great counter pose for hunched shoulders.

May you experience unimaginable peace. Let go of every burden and anxious thought that weighs you down; it's not yours to carry, it's too heavy. If you continue to carry it, it'll leave you tired and overwhelmed. So let it go, release it and allow goodness to takeover. In your surrender may you experience unimaginable peace and unspeakable joy. It's all gonna be ok.

Whenever you feel overwhelmed take a look at the sky and take a few breaths. These things are always free.

Even if you put your trousers on back to front, some days you have to roll up your big girl pants, do the work and then lie back, cover your eyes from the world and relax. Burying your head in the sand is also OK.

Zanzibaaaaah Bliss. Some days are perfect days, other days are hard. Life is full of ups and downs. I don't have photos of my yoga practice in difficult spaces, on tight cramped floor spaces. But we can take our freedom anywhere. On my hard days that's when I need it most. And it's ok to crawl into bed too and rest. Good days are coming again I tell myself, and this too shall pass.
Some days we can not see the path as we are walking it. We can only see there was a path, in hindsight.

Sometimes the lower back needs help. Deep pressure. For our spines do so much work keeping our brain together. Rest often.
We are better together, and it's not a failure to ask for help.
