It has been tough deciding what to do about yoga classes in light of the current Coronavirus situation.
I have come to the decision that it is best to exercise caution and to stay away from each other over the next few weeks. Although the danger is not immediately visible to us right now, this is an extremely serious situation which is evolving very fast.
It has been shown that ‘social distancing’ - deliberately not mixing with people – is the best and only hope we have right now of minimising mass infection and ensuring that this virus is brought under control as quickly as possible. This is not just about protecting ourselves – we all have different levels of immunity – it’s about not allowing the virus to spread, for the wellbeing of society at large.
I have attached a few interesting links if you'd like to take a look. The first is a video interview of an expert in the field of infectious diseases - it's very down to earth and informative - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CsAeuFAPy4&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR1P8CI9xxDrhYmy8KrAZNFwOULdrd3QaMNLmEKcsPI9XIZAFRneQ7mmcfs and the second a simulation of the different measures that can be taken against Covid-19 and their efficiency at curtailing it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/?fbclid=IwAR0ksKL-c1z6DlWFkgiY4GFiYnbZwd4ybn5kyL0EuPyNcZ2bZDuOwvoFFHY
In the meantime, take care of your immune system:
• Eat a healthy diet – make sure your body has the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and micro nutrients needed for optimal health
• Get adequate rest – get a good quality night’s sleep to give you the energy to get through the day rather than relying on stimulants like sugar, coffee, energy drinks and to***co.
• Stay well hydrated – maximise the effectiveness of your body’s natural defence mechanisms by ensuring you are drinking adequate amounts of water.
• Exercise frequently – maximise the efficiency of your lymphatic system, which depends on movement to circulate this vital germ-fighting fluid.
• Wash your hands regularly
• Think positive thoughts – don’t worry about being a victim, and don’t get drawn into panic buying.
With love,
Elli

We spend much of our lives trying to avoid our own emotions, whether it is through the food we eat, social media, or even Yoga. But what effect does this have? In this short video, Dr. Lauren Tober talks about the importance of truly feeling and explains how to welcome our emotions, instead of blocking them.
