🏁 2026 Southern Championships Post-Race Update

Saturday’s Southern Championships at Forest Edge Kart Club brought a huge step forward for Alfie in only his second time competing in race conditions.

The day started strongly, with Alfie immediately picking up around his previous personal best pace despite not driving at Forest Edge for two months. In Practice 2, after switching to his first fresh set of slick tyres since starting owner-driver karting, he found another big improvement and set a new PB.

He then went quicker again in qualifying, improving his Forest Edge personal best by more than two seconds overall and qualifying P25 from 29 drivers in a highly competitive grid.

Unfortunately, the races brought a tougher end to the day, with incidents in both the Pre-Final and Final. The final incident required an ambulance assessment at the circuit and a later trip to Salisbury A&E for X-rays. Thankfully, there were no broken bones, but Alfie is now recovering from a painful hand and wrist injury, along with some bruising.

Despite the difficult finish, the positives from the day were clear: stronger pace, improved confidence, a big qualifying step forward, and another important learning experience in Alfie’s 2026 development.

🏁 ALFIE IS THROUGH TO THE BIKC LOCAL FINALS!

We’re excited to share that Alfie has qualified for the Cadet Local Finals of the British Indoor Karting Championship 2026 at TeamSport Bristol.

After long journeys up to Bristol, Alfie has secured his place on the grid for the Local Final on 14 September 2026.

BIKC gives Alfie another valuable racing environment alongside his outdoor owner-driver karting, helping him continue to build confidence, race craft and competitive experience as part of his wider 2026 development programme.

A brilliant achievement and another big step forward — those 3+ hour round trips are definitely paying off.

Dunkeswell development update 🏁

A really productive practice day at Dunkeswell Raceway during the DKC Super KX Round 5 and JAG Rotax Festival at the weekend, with plenty of learning and clear progress across the day.

The headline result was a fastest lap of 50.89 seconds in the final session. That was a 2.98-second improvement from the first session of the day and 3.22 seconds faster than our previous Dunkeswell practice-day benchmark of 54.11 seconds.

Just as encouraging was the improvement in consistency. The later sessions produced much more repeatable pace, with the final session delivering a best five-lap average of 51.30 seconds and 12 representative laps within one second of the session best.

A really positive step forward, not only in outright pace, but also in building the consistency needed for future race weekends.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support the journey. There is still plenty to work on, but this was another encouraging day of development. 💪🏎️

🏁 Back to Dunkeswell for Rotax Festival weekend

We are returning to Dunkeswell next Saturday, 25th July, for practice during the 2026 Rotax Festival weekend.

We are attending the Saturday practice day, which will be another valuable opportunity to build seat time, confidence and experience in the Rotax Inter Max kart.

The weekend will also be broadcast live by Slipstream, powered by Alpha Live, giving people the chance to follow the action and potentially see Alfie out on track during Saturday practice.

🏁 Development Update: TeamSport Bristol

Alongside the owner-driver karting programme, Alfie continues to use TeamSport Bristol Race Academy and indoor karting as an important part of his wider driver development.

Today’s session at TeamSport Bristol was focused on posting lap times toward British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC) qualification, while continuing to build consistency, race craft and confidence in a competitive environment.

Although this sits separately from the Rotax Inter Max owner-driver programme, it remains a valuable part of Alfie’s development pathway. Indoor karting helps sharpen race awareness, close control, overtaking judgement and repeatable lap performance, all areas that support progression across the wider karting programme.

It was also another opportunity to represent FazePickle Racing’s commercial partners, showing how partner branding can be carried across different parts of the programme, not just owner-driver race weekends.
