Everyone at Phoenix taekwondo wishes Team Scotland good luck in the football World Cup. To help lift the spirits, here's a wee throwback to last July, when Mr Wyllie, and the Paisley & District RBL pipe band led over 300 Scottish fighters (including 67 from Phoenix) at the start of our own World Championship.

Folks, today is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, which means tonight’s training session is going to be a sweaty one! To perform at your best and train safely, you need to start preparing right now.
When you train in high heat, your body relies heavily on sweating to keep your core temperature down. If you start class even slightly dehydrated, your energy levels drop, your reaction times slow down, and you risk heat cramps or exhaustion.
Here is what you need to do today:
Hydrate NOW, not later: Don't wait until you get to class to start drinking water. Hydration is a slow process. Sip water consistently throughout the day so your body is fully prepped before you step onto the mats.
Bring extra fluids tonight: Please bring much more water than you normally would. A single small bottle won't cut it tonight.
Consider electrolytes: If you have sports drinks or electrolyte tablets, bring them along to help replace the essential salts you'll lose through sweat.
Let's look after ourselves and each other so we can have a great, safe session tonight. See you all on the matsβ€”don't forget your extra water!
