Music in the Park 2026
We are excited to announce an *addition* to tomorrows line up, playing from around 1:40pm: 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐃𝐘𝐄 are a female-led 3-piece teen punk rock band, formed in 2024. The band released their first EP in 2025, with singles receiving radio play across Radio Wales and BBC Radio 6.
Influenced by New Seattle-era Newport, along with a whole host of Californian punk bands, Hot Wax, The Muffs and more, Hairdye are a the product of the city they love, gritty, fun and one of a kind.
Don't forget the other amazing local talents we have lined up:
𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒: One of the great local cover bands playing hits from the 60s to today. Request almost any song and they can do it — one of the most versatile bands around! Pop, rock, reggae, soul… you name it, they'll play it (as feature in todays Cadstock!)
𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃: A local favourite, these guys are playing MIP for an amazing third year in a row! A passionate foursome playing original songs, inspired by the grunge of the 90s, infused with alternative metal, hailing from Penarth! Head-banging bass grooves, hard-hitting beats, riffs for days with a powerful alto at the helm. They've been known to juxtapose their heavier sound with colourful and unpredictable performances. 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐊: Formed in 2018, this incredible band are not to be missed. Playing a mix of blues, rock, folk, pop and country, they are true crowd pleasers. With Geoff and Joan on lead vocals and guitar, Choppo on bass, and with one of the best drummers in town — these guys will have you on your feet all afternoon.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐒: The only band in today's line-up to play at every single MIP event since the early beginnings. A Penarth band with its roots firmly in punk rock, guaranteed to entertain the crowds with a real mixed set of covers we all know and love!
𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐙𝐙: Simon Buck and Shirani James have been performing together as Buck Shizz for the past few years. Both have influences that span punk to funk to jazz to pop to rock. This will be the second time that they've officially played at Belle Vue Park.
This year, once again, they will be ably assisted by "old Penarthians" Simon Adams (Adzie), Steve Best (Besty) and Gareth Jones (Gaggs). Together they will be playing an eclectic festival set to mark the occasion.
𝐒𝐓 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐈𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒: St Louis Express are a high-energy swing and jump jive band, bringing the golden era of music roaring back to life. With an infectious sound and irresistible rhythm, they deliver upbeat performances guaranteed to get audiences on their feet—dancing, singing, and smiling from start to finish. St Louis Express
