Well, another fun, interesting, exciting, and for some, challenging year has come and gone.
As we step away to spend holiday time with our friends and families, we want to wish continued health and happiness to you all.
We want to thank all of our wonderful customers/friends for continuing to support our shop and allowing us to continue to support you all.

Ouch! Glad we are not a Giant dealer.
In September 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Withhold Release Order (WRO) against bicycles, parts, and accessories manufactured by Giant in Taiwan. This order allows U.S. officials to detain shipments at the border based on "information that reasonably indicates forced labor use".
Details of the Allegations
The CBP investigation and reporting from a Danish journalist, Peter Bengtsen, identified multiple indicators of forced labor at Giant's Taiwan factories, as defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO), including:
Debt bo***ge: Migrant workers from countries like Vietnam and Thailand reported paying exorbitant recruitment fees (up to several thousand US dollars) to secure jobs, forcing them into debt.
Abusive working and living conditions: Workers described overcrowded and unsanitary dormitories, some reportedly infested with rats.
Withholding of wages: There were allegations of wages being withheld until the end of contracts and deductions for minor rule infractions.
Excessive overtime and intimidation: Workers reported punitive management tactics, including threats of deportation.

Careful out there today folks. They say that they have discovered 3 unexploded bombs from World War 2 in a rear garden on Plassey Street, near our shop.
Traffic is diverted and evacuations are in place.

It's a sad day at The Bike Shop Wales.
Last night, someone smashed our front door and stole what was, to us, a very expensive electric mountain bike. It is a painful loss to our stock.
It is a somewhat uncommon model, so we want to share a photo of the bike so people will be aware, if it is offered for sale, that it is probably the stolen one.

Easter Opening Times
Well, another dark winter is behind us, the daylight is back, and it’s time to take a bit of a break before the busy season kicks in to high gear!
Our team We will be closing at 4pm on Thursday April 17th and reopening at 9am Tuesday April 22nd.
