Under the radiant skies of spring, the beautiful Glendelvine Cricket Ground came alive on 24th May 2026 as cricket enthusiasts gathered for a memorable celebration of sport, friendship, and community.

The Tay Lions Cricket Club proudly hosted another successful 6-A-Side Family Cricket Tournament, where the spirit of cricket transcended competition. Men’s and Women’s teams showcased their passion, skill, and sportsmanship, creating a day filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Beyond the boundary ropes, families and friends enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere enriched with delicious street food, lively music, meaningful conversations, and the joy of meeting new faces. It was a true celebration of unity, love, and the timeless charm of outdoor cricket.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and contributed to making this event a remarkable success.

Match Report | SPCU Division 1

Tay Lions CC won the toss and elected to bowl first against Perth Doo’cot 2. The home side, Perth Doo’cot 2, got off to a strong start, with Graham Ferguson leading the way with 62 runs and Kashaf Khalil adding 58. Perth Doo’cot 2 finished on 258/8 from their 45 overs.

For Tay Lions CC, Ushan Boruppa and Jude Fernando claimed 2 wickets each, while Theja Shaluka also contributed with a wicket.

In reply, Tay Lions CC lost both opening batters early, with Jack Emslie striking twice. Damith Dilantha fought hard for 33 runs, while Theja Shaluka added 21, but regular wickets prevented the team from building momentum. Tay Lions CC were eventually bowled out for 126 in 32.3 overs.

Perth Doo’cot 2 won the match by 132 runs.

Not our day, but we’ll learn, improve, and come back stronger next week. Thank you for your support.

Match Day Summary – Tay Lions CC vs Falkland CC 2

Yesterday, Tay Lions CC won the toss and elected to bat first against Falkland CC 2.

Although our opening batsmen were unable to provide a strong start, the middle-order batsmen showed great patience and responsibility to build a competitive total. Tay Lions CC were eventually bowled out for 231 runs in 45 overs.

A special mention goes to young Ushan Boruppa, who scored 50 runs and registered his maiden half-century for the club. At the end of the innings, Damith Nalin played a valuable unbeaten knock of 29 runs, helping Tay Lions reach a challenging total.

In reply, Falkland CC 2 were not allowed to settle by the disciplined Tay Lions bowling attack. After 18 overs, rain interrupted play, but the match resumed later.

Damith Nalin produced an outstanding all-round performance, scoring important runs and then taking 3 wickets for 33 runs. He was well supported by Theja Shaluka, who also claimed 3 wickets for 36 runs. Dinuka Muthukumarana contributed with 1 wicket for 14 runs.

Despite a fighting innings of 75 runs from Callum May, Falkland CC 2 were bowled out for 199 runs in 43.4 overs.

As a result, Tay Lions CC secured a well-deserved 32-run victory.

Tay Lions Cricket Club is now going live 😍

With the support and contributions from all the teams that participated in the softball cricket tournament held on the 24th, together with the generous sponsorships received, Tay Lions Cricket Club has officially purchased a FrogBox Live Streaming Kit worth £2380, along with a one-year live streaming pass.

This FrogBox system is used to live stream provincial cricket matches in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and England through YouTube, allowing cricket fans around the world to watch games live. After months of fundraising towards this goal, we are proud to say that the purchase has now been completed. The kit is expected to arrive around the second week of July 2026.

Going forward, all our upcoming matches will be available to watch live, and our community events will also be shared live with audiences around the world.
