And just like that our 2007s grassroots journey has come to an end, to mark the occassion we held an end of season presentation at Jeanfield last Sunday followed by some pool and the odd beer at the Ballroom ππ±πΊβ½οΈ
The last 10-years or so have gone so fast, the original 5 players that went to the High School for fun 4s pre-dates my involvement but do remember having two Super 5 teams bursting with talent. From there we ran two 7aside teams competing well locally with Murrie, Deano, Dave and myself putting in the hours. Before we knew it, 11aside beckoned and we we lucky enough to taste success for the first time winning the PKYFA league before COVID interrupted things. We moved to Fife for a few seasons playing 1st division football before heading over to Dundee to retain Sunday football for the team which required us to start in the 2nd division. The season ended well with promotion secured that year after a strong 2nd half to the season and the team would finish a creditable 4th the following season behind the unstoppable Royals in the top division. Another switch back to the Fife 1st division for the last 2 seasons would see the boys finish each season in the top half of the league behind league winners AM Soccer & Blue Brazil however further success would come our way with Cup wins in successive years to finish the journey in fine style πππππ
Many highs and lows over the years, thankfully the highs far outweighing the lows with many proud moments including seeing some of our players in the early years moving into Pro Youth football with Falkirk, Saints & Celtic β€οΈ. Early on we tested the team against Dundee and Dundee United Pro Youth teams to keep their feet on the ground and attended many memorable festivals playing teams outwith Perthshire. Reamonn Gormley & Crieff were regulars but also Cowie, AM Soccer in St Andrews and Nova Star to name but a few. The team had experiences playing at Bayview, Ochilview, Central Park and during half time at McDermott before topping things off with their final home game at Riverside Stadium β½οΈ. Attending the Manchester Tournament was also a great experience for all along with other team bonding events including go-karting, pool, paintball, paddle boarding and archery to name but a few, all well attended - We kept those kids busy π€£π€£
Onto 2025 and our end of season presentation, all the boys received a well deserved trophy for their dedication, hard work and commitment over the season ππ. Not only doing their stuff for the 18s but a good number also playing regularly for our U20s and helping them to league success this year πππ
Back to our Presentation and the individual winners were:-
Parents Player of the Year:- Ryan Daly ππ
Coaches Player of the Year:- Lewis Dyson ππ
Most Assists in the Year:- Ryan Daly ππ
Most Improved Player:- Jack McLean ππ
Players Player of the Year:- Lewis Dyson ππ
Top Goalscorer:- Ryan Daly ππ
Long Service Awards (10-Years) - Daniel Coppin, Ethan Stark & Lewis Dyson πππ
Goal of the Season:- Kieran McKechnie.
Big shoutout to all the coaches that have been involved over the years who gave up so much of their time (Murrie, Deano, Dave, Bruce, Alan, Dave S, Connor & I better mention Raymondo π). Special mention for Katherine for keeping us all right on the admin side and being a great link with the parents & to Karen in the early years β€οΈ. To all the players who have worn the Black&White π€π€ shirt with pride over the years, any there have been many π. To all the parents who have been so supportive over the years along with our generous sponsors Colco, WG Roofing, Tay Electrical, MGM Timber, Excel, Your Conveyancer & S & G Baynes Contracting. None of what we have achieved over the years would have been possible without all of you ππ
Jeanfield will always have a special place in my heart along with all of the people who have made this journey possible. All the best to the players in whatever direction they go in, great to see so many continuing their football journey, taking their next steps into adult football.

PRESEASON OPEN TRAINING SESSION

Last ever Match Report from the U18s π₯², today we were on our travels to face Kirkcaldy & Dysart.
Before kick off we would lose a couple of the boys who were stranded after their car broke down enroute, glad to hear they got back home safely but both gutted to miss the final game. Playing up the hill first half, honours fairly even for the first 20mins with no team gaining a foothold in the match, K&D going long and looking to feed off the 2nd ball. We took the lead when Ryan converted directly from a free kick with a great strike. This seemed to settle the boys and we would create a few more opportunities however the home defence stood firm including their keeper who pulled off a great save from Ruaridh. K&D did however equalise when a miss placed pass from us found their striker to score.
Half Time 1-1.
Looking for a big 45mins we would start fairly well creating some half chances but again the home defence would be stubborn. We fell behind to a header at the back post however would level again after a Ryan corner found Ethan with a glancing header to beat their keeper. We suffered a double whammy when a penalty was awarded against us and a red card unjustly issued for a comment made in frustration that the Ref incorrectly assumed was directed at him π‘. Penalty duly converted. In the dying minutes we thought we had at least rescued a point when Lewis D put a good ball into the box and Jayden scored with a looping header. However there was to be another twist when the 2nd penalty of the match was awarded to K&D, again converted.
Final Score 4-3 K&D π₯²

Overall a shame the boys didnβt reach the heights they are capable of today, that said itβs been another good season, lifting a Cup π, finishing a credible 4th in the Fife top division π and supporting our U20s with a good number of our boys contributing to their league success ππ
We have our team end of season in a couple of weeks where we will celebrate team and individual successes and hope to see as many parents, friends and family members as possible π

Match Report from our last ever U18s home game π₯², big shout out to our Seniors for allowing us to use their pitch which was a great way to bow out ππ
We would welcome Blue Brazil who have had an outstanding season, unbeaten in all games this season bar a narrow loss in the Scottish Cup final. As such we knew it would be a massive test particularly as we would be without 8 players and needed to bring in a couple of trialists. Pre-Match both teams observed a minutes silence to mark the sad passing of Bene Byers, AFYFC chairman π₯².
Unfortunately we would put in an uncharacteristic lack lustre performance first half, coupled with the loss of a couple of poor goals and would find ourselves 3-0 down at half time π₯²
2nd half was much better with the boys having a real go, competing better and stretching the away defence. We would pull a goal back after Ruben played a quick ball out of defence to Ruaridh who outpaced his marker and slotted the ball calmly home past the advancing keeper. We needed to score the next goal, had chances however it would be Blue Brazil who would score again to stretch their lead and effectively end the contest. During the 2nd half we came extremely close on 3 occasions and would be unlucky to hit the post 3 times, twice from Ryan and once from Ruaridh. Blue Brazil however remained dangerous going forward with Ruben pulling off a number of good saves π. We managed to pull another goal back before the finish after some good link up play between Ethan and Ruaridh with the latter playing Ethan in to finish past the keeper.
Final Score 4-2 Blue Brazil.

Big thanks to Calum R & Ruaridh for stepping into the fold, the parents and family members for supporting us today and throughout the season. We didnβt quite manage to go out on a high at home but have another chance next week in our final game away to Kirkcaldy & Dysart.

Match Report from Wednesday evenings away League game against Valleyfield at St Serfs.
After a bit of a struggle getting through for the 6.30pm KO, it was no surprise that we were a bit sluggish in the first half. We did create some decent moments however our final ball and finishing in the final third letting us down. Valleyfield themselves created a few opportunities also, mainly from set pieces however the game remained goalless at half time.
0-0.
With a couple of subs made at half time, we would immediately create a good opportunity with some quick passing which would set the tone. Shortly after, a corner from Ethan was just missed by Favourβs front post run however it would break to Daniel who finished well on the half volley π. Our 2nd came after Jude picked up the ball driving toward goal, cut in to fire a good shot which was well saved by the Valleyfield keeper however Finn would be on hand to fire home the rebound π. Ryan would score our 3rd with a cracker direct from a free kick π. It wasnβt all one way and Valleyfield would come close on a couple of occasions hitting the woodwork after some direct play. Our final goal came from a great cross wide right by Kieran into the danger area, the ball breaking to Ryan who would find the net with a left foot shot π.
Final Score 4-0 Jeanfield π

Overall, happy with the 2nd half performance where we showed a lot more desire and urgency, running out deserved winners. Great to get a clean sheet also with our defenders and Ruben putting in a solid performance.

Match Report from this afternoonβs home league match against a good Burntisland Boys team.
What a difference a week makes, with only 11 boys today it was always going to be a tough shift on what was a warm day π₯΅. First half was fairly even with both teams cancelling each other out. Burntisland would take the lead on 25mins after a loose ball in the box landed at the Burntisland players feet and he would steer home. The boys showed a good reaction though, just before half time would draw level after good work down the left by Ryan culminating in a great cross to find Ethan who managed to shoot past the keeper.
Half time 1-1.
Burntisland would start slightly the better into the 2nd half however opportunities would be few and far between with each teams defence standing firm. Burntisland would take the lead again after some indecisiveness and a lack of communication by ourselves letting them in to score. Again we would mount a strong finish, we would be denied a deserved drawn by some good defending from the away team, a stone wall penalty claim for blatant hand ball not given and a goal chalked off, probably rightly being just offside π₯²
Final Score 1-2 Burntisland.
Big thanks to Innes for going in goal today, Calum R for helping us out as a trialist and to the rest of the boys who put in a huge shift today and gutting that they didnβt get their just rewards. We pick ourselves up and go again this Wednesday where we face Valleyfield at St Serfs. All the best to Burntisland for the rest of the season.

Match Report from this afternoons Darren Stewart Trophy Cup Final at Bodywyse Autocare Park, Kirkcaldy where we faced Kelty Hearts.
With a decent sized squad for the first time in a while we went into this game with optimism and confidence however fully aware the challenge Kelty Hearts would present. Both teams settled fairly quickly and after a period of testing each other out, we would take the lead on 13mins when Jake put a good ball over the top for Finn to run onto and he calmly lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box. Enjoying a good spell of possession we would apply pressure to the Kelty defence and would be unlucky not to double our lead. We would however score our 2nd on 26mins when Jude played a nice ball through to Calum who took the ball to the bye line and squared to Ryan, Ryans shot was initially blocked by the defender however it broke back to him and he made no mistake from close in. We would come close shortly after when Jake found himself free in the box with the post coming to Keltys rescue. Kelty would however get themselves back into the game with an absolute screamer of a free kick which found the top corner.
Half Time 2-1 Jeanfield π
Kelty would come out fired up and put us under a fair bit of pressure for the first 10/15mins however the boys stood firm and weathered the storm. Once we started taking care of the ball again, retaining more possession and moving it a bit quicker we would gradually gain control again. Our 3rd came just after 70mins when Calum picked up the box on the edge of the Kelty Box, driving to the bye line, beating his man then calmly squaring it to Ethan to finish from 10yards. The victory was all but confirmed with a few minutes of full time to go, Daniel securing the ball wide right on the edge of the Kelty Box before picking out Ethans run who moved the ball from right to left foot before slotting home. Kelty would score their 2nd in the dying minutes to complete the scoring.
