3. Pay cash upon arrival at the tournament.
ENTRY FEES
The entry fee is £25 for adults and £15 for juniors (under 18 years old on 28th November 2026). Any entries received after Friday 20th November will be subject to an additional £5 surcharge.
PRIZES
The County Champion and Junior Champion will retain their Trophies for 1 year, plus the following:
County Champion: £120 and memento trophy County Runner-up: £60 Junior Champion: £80 and memento trophy Junior Runner-up: £40 Rating prizes will depend on the number of entries.
If required, Titles and trophies will be decided by tiebreak. However, cash prizes will be shared by players on the same number of points. No player can win more than one cash prize.
ROUND TIMES
Sat 28th Nov Sun 29th Nov
Round 1 – 9.30am Round 4 – 9.30am
Round 2 – 1.15pm Round 5 – 1.15pm
Round 3 – 5.00pm Prizegiving – 4.30pm
Players may request a half point bye in rounds 1-4 (see entry form).
RATE OF PLAY
70 minutes plus a 15 second increment per move from move 1. A player arriving more than 30 minutes late will be defaulted and their opponent re-paired if possible.

ELIGIBILITY
All Cambridgeshire players may enter provided they satisfy one of the following conditions:
1. Were born in the County. 2. Currently resident in the County. 3. Currently in full-time education or employment in the County. 4. Are or have been a member of a chess club affiliated to the County Association.
ECF RATING
It is a condition of entry that players have ECF Membership (Bronze or higher) prior to the start of the tournament. This can easily be done on-line at www.englishchess.org.uk
November 2026 Standard ECF Ratings will be used for the Round 1 draw. Unrated players should give an indication of strength on the entry form.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Play will be in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess. Any disputes will be referred to the ECF qualified arbiter whose decision shall be final.
The organizers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft or accident during the tournament. Adult supervision for children taking part will only be provided in the tournament hall.
REFRESHMENTS

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided free of charge to competitors. Meals and snacks may be purchased at nearby shops, pubs and hotels.
