⚽ MATCH REPORT | EAST DURHAM FC

East Durham FC 0 - 2 Consett Derwentside AFC

A close contest today against Consett Derwentside AFC, with the lads putting in a great shift and showing plenty of positives throughout the game. 💪

The team put in a fantastic defensive display, working hard for each other and making it difficult for Consett to create clear opportunities. There was lots of great play from the lads, with some good football on show and plenty of effort across the pitch.

The game remained tight until deep into the second half, when a penalty broke the deadlock and gave Consett the breakthrough. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a way back into the game, and they added a second to secure the result.

👏 Player of the Match – James 👏

James was outstanding today, doing his job brilliantly and putting in a committed performance. He worked hard, stood up to the challenge and led by example. Well deserved, James! 🏆

📈 Areas to build on

There were plenty of positives to take from today’s performance, but games like this show just how important it is to win your individual duels and be stronger in possession. Competing for every ball, protecting possession and being stronger in those key moments can make all the difference in tight games.

Heads up, lads! Keep working hard in training, keep believing in each other, and we’ll continue to improve together. 💙⚽

🏆 COUNTY CUP | FULL TIME

East Durham FC 0–11 South Shields

Today brought our County Cup journey to an end, but the scoreline certainly doesn’t tell the full story of the effort and attitude shown by the boys. 👏⚽️

We knew from the start that we were facing a very strong Premier League opposition, and the boys were always going to have to work extremely hard. Despite the result, every single player should be extremely proud of their performance.

The lads kept their heads, continued to work for each other and dug deep right until the final whistle. There were plenty of moments where they showed exactly why they have come so far as a team, refusing to give up and continuing to battle against a very tough opponent.

A huge mention also has to go to our defensive players, who worked tirelessly throughout the game, putting their bodies on the line and continuing to try to make things difficult for South Shields.

⭐ MOTM – LEVI ⭐

A massive well done to Levi today. He had the incredibly difficult job of picking the ball out of his net 11 times, but that doesn’t tell the story of his performance.

He pulled off some fantastic saves throughout the game and kept going from the first minute to the last. Most importantly, despite the result, Levi was still smiling at full time. That attitude says everything about him and the character of this team. 👏💙

There are days when the result isn’t what you want, but what matters is how you respond, and today the boys showed plenty of fight, togetherness and character.

Heads up lads — be proud of yourselves. 💙⚽️

The County Cup may be over, but there is plenty more to come from this group. 💪

Hebburn Town FC Barca 0–5 East Durham FC 🔵⚪️

What a performance from the lads today! 🔥

From the first whistle, the team played with loads of energy, determination and desire — something that has been missing from our performances recently. Today, the intensity was there from start to finish, and it made a huge difference.

The first half was a tight and competitive affair, with both teams working hard and neither side giving much away. But East Durham stayed patient, kept working and eventually found the breakthrough.

⚽️ Own Goal

The second half saw us really take control, with the lads continuing to press, compete and play with confidence. Five goals and a clean sheet is a fantastic reward for the effort everyone put in.

👏 Defensively, we were excellent.
James, Lucas and Ben were outstanding at the back, showing great organisation, communication and determination to keep Hebburn out.

⭐️ MOTM – Loui ⭐️

A fantastic captain’s display from Loui. He showed real leadership throughout the game, encouraging the lads, setting the standards and leading by example when we needed it most. 👏

A massive well done to every player today. The energy, attitude and togetherness were exactly what we have been asking for.

5 goals. Clean sheet. Great energy. Great leadership.

⚽️ FULL TIME: EAST DURHAM 3–3 WREKENTON NOU CAMP ⚽️

A proper scrappy game today with both teams battling for every ball! 💪

🔥 Coby with a HAT-TRICK! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
A brilliant individual performance to get all three of our goals.

We found ourselves 3–1 up and looked in a great position, but unfortunately conceded late on from a corner to see the game finish 3–3.

Plenty of positives to take, but a tough one to take after being so close to the win!

⭐️ MAN OF THE MATCH – JAMES ⭐️
Another fantastic performance and fully deserved the award! 👏

Well done lads — keep working hard and we go again! 💙🖤

⚽️ EAST DURHAM U13s – SEASON OPENER ⚽️

East Durham U13s 3–1 Sunderland Roker

The start of a brand-new season for the lads, and what a way to kick it off! 🔥

Back at home, the pitch looked absolutely beautiful… apart from a few rabbit holes! 😂🐇 But once the whistle went, the lads looked confident from the very first minute.

We started the game brilliantly and it wasn’t long before we took the lead. A long goal kick from Levi sailed over the Sunderland Roker defence and landed perfectly onto Jacobi's toe. Jacobi showed great composure, dinking the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net. What a goal! 🚀⚽️

We kept the pressure on, and the defence looked solid, holding their line brilliantly at the back. We continued to push forward and won ourselves a corner. Loui delivered an outswinging ball, and we won the header. The keeper managed to save it, but T-Jay was in exactly the right place at exactly the right time, slotting home the rebound to make it 2–0! ⚽️🔥

Half-time came and changes were made, with Cooper, Riley and Alfie coming on for the second half.

The wind was against us in the second half, and you could certainly feel the difference. Sunderland Roker came out fighting and put us under pressure, eventually getting themselves back into the game with a goal.

But the lads didn’t let their heads drop. 💪

Jacobi looked to have grabbed his second after the Sunderland keeper spilled the ball and Jacobi calmly slotted it home, but unfortunately the referee disallowed the goal.

Late in the second half, we had another great chance. Cooper sliced his effort just wide — so unlucky! Keep your head up, Cooper, because you were unlucky not to get yourself on the scoresheet. 👊

Then came the final five minutes… and what a finish! 🔥

Some fantastic football down the left involving Jasper, Alfie and Keegan saw us work the ball brilliantly. Jasper then delivered an absolutely deadly ball across the box to our right winger, T-Jay.

T-Jay took a brilliant first touch, gave a slight feint to the right… and BANG! 💥 A fantastic strike across goal, finding the far-left corner in off the post!

T-Jay with his second of the game! 3–1! ⚽️⚽️🔥

The lads finished the game strongly and saw it out to secure a fantastic 3–1 victory.

👏 What a start to the new season!

Plenty of positives to take from that performance — great attacking football, a strong defensive shape, and most importantly, the lads kept going right until the final whistle.

💙⚽️ Well done lads — onto the next one! 💙⚽️

⚽️ Flamingo Land Football Festival ⚽️

What a brilliant weekend at the Flamingo Land Resort Football Festival!

Massive credit to all the players who represented the club with pride, determination and great team spirit throughout the tournament. The football on display was outstanding and the lads gave everything in every game.

Day 1
seen the lads play x4 30 minute games, all tight games to be fair but just felt we weren’t getting to rub of green seen us end the day bottom, this was definitely not a reflection of how the lads played.

Grangetown boysie 2-1 East dutham

Harton and westoe Tigers 1-0 East Durham FC

East Durham 4 - 1 Brooklyn

Killingworth blues 1-0 East Durham

Day 2
With one group game to play vs top of the group we knew it would be a tough test but credit the lads they were the better team but again if you don’t put your chances away you get punished.

East durham fc 0-2 workington juniors greys.

We then went into the semi finals of our group and seen us comfortably beat a decent Saltburn team

Saltburn 0 east Durham 3

The final was set vs a team we played in a friendly 2 weeks prior, the lads were outstanding with wave after wave of attacks you just knew they wanted it more and to be fair they deserved it after nearly 4 hours of football over the 2 days they won the game to claim the trophy and everyone who was there at the final whistle will confirm you would like they lost by there reaction.

East Durham 1 - 0 velocity

Shout out to Loui for picking up player of the tournament 👏👏👏👏

Plenty of memories made on and off the pitch, with lots of laughs, great football and a fantastic atmosphere all weekend. These experiences are what grassroots football is all about.

The presentation evening was a fantastic experience for the lads, being in that environment and able to lift the trophy in front of a few hundred people will be remembered for a long time.

As the coach of this team I would like too say a huge thank you to all the parents, supporters and organisers for making it such a special trip, doing these previously myself I knew how special it would be and seeing the lads enjoy there time away just makes everything feel that much more special.

Proud of every single player 👏⚽️🦩

End Of Season Result
East Durham 1 - 0 Washington Lazio

A perfect way to finish the season with a hard fought 1-0 win, we thought it was a good idea prior to the game for the lads to pick there positions from a lucky dip, we had strikers playing right back, the keeper playing centre back and defenders playing on the wing, it was a bit fun to end the season on a high.

The game had everything you’d expect from an end of season fixture, tired legs, big tackles and plenty of determination from both sides. Credit to the opposition who made it difficult throughout, but the lads stayed disciplined and kept battling until the final whistle.

First half was a tight affair with chances at both ends, but our makeshift defence stood strong and dealt with everything thrown at them. Going forward we looked dangerous on the counter and finally got the breakthrough with a well worked goal seen Jasper with a tidy finish with the outside of boot, keeper had no chance.

Second half was all about character. The lads had to dig deep, defend together and show the fighting spirit that’s been there all season. The back line were outstanding, winning headers, blocking shots and protecting the lead right until the end.

MOTM - Lucas, normally plays in defence but picked out goalkeeper for the day and did a cracking job to be fair and kept a clean sheet.

Massive credit to every player this season for the effort, commitment and attitude shown week in week out. Thank you to everyone who has supported the team throughout the year — players, coaches, parents and supporters.

A brilliant way to end the season. ⚽👏
