⚽️ WE GO AGAIN... ⚽️

The games keep coming thick and fast as pre-season continues on Wednesday evening.

After a positive start to our preparations, we now face potentially one of our toughest tests yet as we take on a strong Lakeside U18's side.

Every game is another opportunity to learn, improve and continue building towards the new season. We know the challenge ahead, and we're looking forward to seeing how the boys respond.

This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the hard work, dedication and commitment each of these lads has shown.

The selection process was extremely competitive, making this recognition even more special.

There is no doubt that they will represent both Devon FA and Plymouth Parkway with pride, passion and professionalism.

🏆 Opposition Player of the Match 🏆

A solid, tidy performance from Stan today that earned him the Opposition Player of the Match award.

When Stan keeps himself focused and stays out of the unnecessary stuff, he's a very good defender with plenty of ability. Strong in the tackle, composed in possession and always willing to put his body on the line for the team.

Today's display was another reminder of the quality he has. If he continues to channel all of his energy into his football, he'll be a massive player for this squad.

A thoroughly deserved award.

We're genuinely running out of words to describe this lad and his ability.

Another outstanding performance today. Strong, fearless, full of quality and a constant threat every time he got on the ball. An absolute beast from start to finish.

The parents were in full agreement as they voted MJ today's Supporters Player of the Match—a thoroughly deserved award.

I'd happily pay to watch this lad do his thing every weekend.

📝 FULL TIME | Plymouth Parkway U16's 4️⃣-0️⃣ Elburton Villa U16's

A strong all-round performance from the boys this morning as we made it three unbeaten in pre-season with an impressive 4-0 victory over a determined Elburton Villa side. 💛🖤

The opening stages were evenly contested, with Elburton proving to be organised and difficult to break down. However, Parkway eventually found the breakthrough following a lovely passage of play, with Kobyn continuing his outstanding pre-season form by getting on the end of a pinpoint cross to make it 1-0.

We headed into the first-half hydration break with that slender lead, and the message from the coaching staff was clear – we needed to take greater control of the midfield. Jake was putting in a tremendous shift, but as a team we were sitting too deep and making life difficult for ourselves.

The boys responded brilliantly.
Shortly after the restart, Sam's determination and endeavour paid off as he doubled our advantage, giving Parkway a deserved 2-0 lead going into half-time.

The second half saw some excellent football from Parkway. MJ was causing problems down the right and produced a superb delivery into the box for Kobyn to calmly finish for his second goal of the morning and make it 3-0.

Parkway weren't finished there. Great wing play from Fred created the opportunity before he delivered an excellent cross into the box. Rio produced a clever first-time flick into the path of Kobyn, who kept his composure to finish confidently and make it 4-0.

Parkway had the chance to add a fifth when Fred burst into the penalty area and was brought down by an Elburton defender.

Up stepped Kobyn, looking to complete another hat-trick, but full credit to the Elburton goalkeeper who guessed correctly and produced an excellent save.

Just as pleasing as the four goals was the team's defensive display. Everyone worked tirelessly from front to back to secure our first clean sheet of pre-season—a reward the whole squad thoroughly deserved.

A convincing performance, plenty of positives once again, and another valuable 80 minutes as preparations for the new season continue.

🏆 Parents' Player of the Match – Danon 🏆

A huge congratulations to Danon on being voted our Parents' Player of the Match after an outstanding display in midfield. 💛💙

The gaffer summed it up perfectly:
"Mega performance from Danon! He will be aching tomorrow. Put everything on the line, as he always does, and was a huge part of the team turning the tide in the second half. So honest, heart-on-the-sleeve stuff and we couldn't ask for any more. We needed that in the second half, Danon – you led the team brilliantly."

An immense shift from our midfield general, leading by example when the team needed it most. A thoroughly deserved award.
