On a beautiful sunny morning the lads arrived back at Chaddlewood only a few weeks after our first league meeting but this time for our league cup fixture.

Still carrying a couple of injuries and few players away, big shout out to Henry #1 who only 3 weeks after suffering a buckle fracture to his wrist in pre season was determined to be back ready for his team.

This late fitness test pass from Henry #1 definitely gave the team a boost 🙌🏻💪🏻

The pitch was in superb condition and set a great scene to play some grassroots football.

Both teams started well and played some great football, it took until 17mins for Kian #14 to place a delicate ball through to Aiden #9 to open the scoring 0-1.

2 minutes later Aiden #9 was very alert to press a short goal kick and win the ball just outside the box and find a pass to Kian #14 and repay the assist favour to Kian #14 who first time side foot slots the ball in to right corner 0-2.

Possibly the move of the match saw some clean passing football starting on our own 18 yard box and passes between Ryan #6, Jude #19, Bobby #10, Aiden #9, Archer #18 back to Aiden #9 and through ball to AJ #16 but his shot went inches wide.

Half Time 0-2

Again some good pressure from a short goal kick and the ball came to AJ #16 who watched his strike from edge of the box take a slight deflection to sweetly nestle into the top right corner 0-3.

Maxim #7 just inside the box had his effort superbly blocked but eagle eyed Kian #14 reacted and slides in to poke ball into net 0-4.

Maxim #7 finally got his name on the score sheet with a deserved goal slotting a bouncing ball in the box into the corner with a clean right footed strike 0-5.

A good defensive display and few good saves from the returning Henry #1 kept a clean sheet and get their names into the hat for the next round 🏆⚽️

Also a shout out to the U18 referee yesterday who was excellent and showed maturity beyond his age to officiate the match 👏🏻

Full Time: Chaddlewood 0 : 5 MAP

Opposition Player of the Match: Bobby #10

Coaches Player of the Match: Henry #1

Boys are in League cup action tomorrow 🏆💪🏻⚽️

However with a string of injuries impacting the squad this could be a tough task tomorrow morning 🩵💪🏻⚽️

Difficult morning of football for the lads yesterday. 2 teams ready to lock horns and play football however the pitch wasn’t going to allow the finesse style of passing football that both teams have become renowned for.

With 4 lads carrying injuries it was fair to say it was a cliche game of 2 halves where Map struggled to adapt to the pitch conditions and get a hold of the game.

Map were rattled early when only 7mins in they found themselves 1 down.

Drake were very much using the home advantage and playing to the pitch conditions doubling their lead on 25 mins to make it 2-0.

MAP were awarded a penalty on the half hour mark when defender brought down Jay #11. Kian #14 stepped up and slotted into the left corner to get a goal back 2-1.

Unsure if Map were caught still celebrating the penalty as immediately from the restart Drake direct long ball over the top and restored their 2 goal lead 3-1.

HT

Map came out in the 2nd half looking like a different beast and ready to take the game to Drake.

On 45mins Aiden #9 was brought down in the box this time and map were awarded their 2nd penalty. Up stepped Kian #14 again to slot into bottom right corner this time for 3-2.

On 53mins Drake broke and with a slight scramble in the box made it 4-2 however an overzealous celebration led to an exchange of words with referee and Drake were given a red card and down to 10 men.

Map had their heckles up and were in the chase creating chance after chance however a rock solid Drake defence stayed strong.

Full Time: Drake 4 : 2 MAP

Coaches Player of the Match: Alfie #4

We dust ourselves and we go again 💪🏻🩵⚽️

Not the result we wanted away from home but a cliche game of 2 halves today, on another day could of been a different story ⚽️🩵

18/09/2026

Game week 3 is here and with a couple of late fitness tests we will be hoping for a full strength squad for a tough away trip tomorrow.

13/09/2026

Second league game of the season was against another promoted team and another challenge for the boys.

Nice to be back on MAP soil and playing at home with the pitch in great condition despite the hottest summer ever!

The boys started similar to last week very cautious but also very frantic and took them a good 10/15 mins to settle down and start playing football.

On 17mins Jay #11 beats his defender and powered to the byline to cut a pin point pass across the box for Kian #14 to side foot the ball into the net 1-0.

For the next 10mins it would be fair to say MAP looked to have settled into their stride but the Manstow defence and GK stayed strong and were throwing everything at not conceding a second.

At 28mins MAP were caught trying to drive out from the back, with the ball falling to the Manstow striker who took a chance to lob Harrison #12 what looked like a shot that was going to safely nestle in his hands a slight misjudgement and the ball found its way into the net to bring the score level 1-1.

Again going into half time MAP tried again to beat the Manstow defence however couple of great saves from their GK saw it go into the break as a stalemate.

Half Time 1 - 1

6mins into 2nd half and slight miscommunication at the back and the ball fell to Manstow striker who swooped and took his chance to take the lead.

Whilst Manstow deserved the goal and were taking their chances, MAP were still very much in control of the match. It took just 7 mins to get level when Kian #14 breaks the defensive line and slots his shot just inside the post and into side netting to bring the game level at 2-2.

More MAP pressure forced a corner, ball sent to back post and headed back across goal by AJ #16 to Ryan #6 at the front post to out jump his marker and squeeze his header into the corner.

Full Time:

MAP 3 : 2 Manstow

Opposition Player of the Match: Bobby #10

Coaches Player of the Match: Aiden #9
