This weekend we are down at Riccall Events Team's Riccall's Big Picnic! 🧺☀️🏀

This is a small start to our big summer of fundraising & outreach, spreading our wings far and wide. 🌪️📢

What a Season for our UKWB Development team! With 7 Wins 🏆and 5 Losses the team finished an a grand position of FIFTH PLACE 🎊🎊.

While it may not have been a top 3 finish for the team, they did beat 8 other teams in the league standings. 📈🔥

Development League Coach James said: 📢
" The team really brought the energy and effort to the court for every game they played. while some games didn't go our way, the team worked together and improved each and every round. This final round, the team really bonded and worked as one cohesive unit, improving their communication, positioning and shooting percentages to bring home the two wins! showing the hard work they have been putting in across the season"

What a blustery day in Penrith at UKWB today as Whirlwinds 3 took the court by storm 🌪️🌪️🌪️🏀🏀 Recap time👇👇

The team started off the day with a close game vs Mohawks Wheelchair Basketball Team 4 drawing level on the buzzer 🔊 at the end of Q4. After a nerve wracking 4 minutes of overtime whirlwinds came out victorious. 🎖️

Moving onto game 2 the team started by chasing down CWBA - Coventry Wheelchair Basketball Academy who took the early lead of the game. The team battled it out ⚔️⚔️and gained & kept the lead💪powering through to a second victory 🎖️of the day!

The team then powered on through ➡️ into a back to back game against Mohawks Wheelchair Basketball Team 5. The team started hot 🔥 on the trail of a strong mohawks side, letting the score slip from grasp. 💨As the game progressed the team managed to break down multiple press' and battled into the lead later into the game. 🎖️Unfortunately, the team ran out of battery 🪫during the last quarter and slipped into a loss in the closing stages of the game.

Today, whirlwinds U15's head to UKWB in penrith to go head to head with Lothian Phoenix and Lancaster Bulldogs WBC 🏀🏀

Unfortunately, Mohawks are unable to field a team today in the Under 15s League, and therefore have forfeited today's games.

We have shuffled the fixtures around today, with all three league games being played this morning, followed by three friendlies this afternoon;

13:20 - Lothian vs Wakefield
14:20 - Wakefield vs Lancaster
15:20 - Lancaster vs Lothian
