Goytre United
Club Statement
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the retirement of myself and Raymond Suhanski from our village football club, 'Goytre United Association Football and Social Club'.
This decision has been in the planning for some time.
With over fifty years of family service it has been decided that we both wish to retire, and catch up on some family life which has been neglected for far too long.
It has been a wonderful journey, and now is the time to reflect and celebrate our involvement and achievements over that time.
Hard work from many volunteers built the club up from the bottom, and the clubs achievements are second to none. A big thank you goes out to all those past and present, who have played, managed, coached, supported and sponsored the Club during our tenure. To the people who have stayed loyal and supported our social club over many years and past and present club officials who have assisted us in running this great club.
Running a successful club and protecting our father’s legacy was always our priority, focus and aim. Many achievements have been made and the Club will always stand in history as a powerhouse of Welsh domestic football.
Our late father was our driving force and inspiration. His family meant everything to him and a promise was made that we would eventually retire and enjoy our retirement years. That time has now come and we intend to keep that promise as a new chapter in our lives await. This decision is based solely on family retirement, our job has been accomplished and our job is now complete, and all things come to an end.
To carry the Club on was always going to be a massive task, and now in retirement we can be happy of what has been achieved over these many years.
It is now time to celebrate and embrace a new era for the Club with new people at the helm. We look forward to a new beginning for Goytre United Football Club and a chance for new people to add to this Clubs great history.
Thank you for all your support and trust over the last fifty six years.
Best Wishes
Lyndon J Suhanski
