βA solid 10/10.β π
Joe went into Ironman Wales last year with PBs at the Swansea Sprint Tri and on the bike at GV 70.3, plus real progress in the swim through the season. But as he puts it, the confidence was only half the story β the real win was enjoying the process.
βMorganβs coaching really worked for me because he always took my shift work into account β he built the training around that without making it feel like a problem. If a session didnβt fit, he listened and adjusted so the plan stayed realistic. Having him to rely on helped me stop stressing about the little things and just crack on with training.
The training itself was genuinely enjoyable. Riding gravel bike with Morgan and the other athletes added a social side that made sessions feel easy β and kept me motivated.
The whole experience was a solid 10/10. Iβd really recommend working with him.β

Credibility isnβt a badge. Itβs having stood exactly where your athletes are standing now.
Anyone can get a certificate. Fewer coaches can tell you what it actually feels like at the decisive moments in a race that matters, or to stand on the start line with your whole country watching.
I spent over a decade racing professionally before I ever wrote a training plan for someone else, representing GB at international championships, podiuming on the world stage, and racing for Wales at the Commonwealth Games. Thatβs not a line on a CV. Thatβs the reason I know what your session actually needs to do for you, not just what a textbook says it should do.
And hereβs the part people donβt talk about: plenty of coaches out there havenβt bothered to get qualified at all. No governing body standards, no formal accountability, just a title they gave themselves. Experience should sit alongside the qualifications, not instead of them.

π₯14th overall. 2nd in age group. 4:34:12.π₯
Sean just completed his first-ever middle distance race at IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea β and this result didnβt come out of nowhere.
Weβve been working together since the very start of Apex triathlon coaching, building consistently through the sprint and standard distance circuit. Race after race, season after season, Sean put in the work β specific work, building durability, learning how to race smart, that has led to him being a consistent performer. That foundation is exactly what let him step up to 70.3 distance and execute like heβs been doing it for years.
This is what happens when the consistent stuff gets done properly for years, not weeks. Huge credit to Sean for trusting the process and turning up every season ready to build. Proud of you mate, well done!
Onwards. π

Two big weekends for Paige! πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ
She kicked things off with a win at the British Aquabike Championships in Angus, Scotland, then backed it up with another win at the British Sprint Triathlon Championships at Eton Dorney! All-round performances β strong swim, strong bike, strong run!
A year of consistent work together getting to this point, and itβs paid off in the best way. Back-to-back AG 30-34 British titles, incredible commitment to the process and hard-earned results. So proud of the work behind this. Well done Paige! π¬π§π

Itβs Monday, time to get after it! πͺπΌ
Unless itβs a rest day, in which caseβ¦ feet up. π
Itβs easy to overlook the importance of recovery, especially when training is going well and your foot is firmly on the pedal. When weβre working hard, we feel good about it, but progress comes from balancing training with recovery so you can keep showing up week after week. π
Long-term sustainability and repeatable quality are the aim of the game. π The athletes who improve year after year arenβt the ones who smash one or two big sessions, theyβre the ones who consistently string together quality training over time. π°οΈ
