Part 6 of for the kids - and the last one for a while, cause we‘re busy sailing from Panama 🇵🇦 to Washington DC 🇺🇸.
There are good times (picture 1) and sometimes also bad times (picture 2) on board Team GOSH. But everything gets better with a hug (picture 3).

Part 5 of for the kids : Seamanship.
1. Every seaman needs to know his knots. In daylight, at night - and even upside down sometimes. This one is a bowline, probably the most useful knot on board.
2. Lines and sails are really heavy, especially on a huge boat like the Clipper70. It‘s best to get help from a friend if you need to move them.

Part 4 of for the kids
This is all about living on board the GOSH boat.
1. Cooking for the whole crew: Every few days is on galley duty. That means he cooks for all his racing friends. They‘re often really hungry and eat a lot of pasta…
2. We try to stay healthy and eat fruit every day.
3. A map of the boat. Here Bernard can see where the food is stored. Especially useful when you‘re looking for hidden ice pops.
4. After galley duty gets to sleep extra long in his bunk.

Part 3 of for the kids
This is all about the jobs is enjoying on the boat.
1: Sail repair. Sometimes things get damaged - but they‘re almost always fixable. Bernard has become quite skilled with needle and thread.
2. Pumping the bilges: A little bit of water finds it‘s way into the boat every day - from rain, waves or dripping from wet clothes. On of the jobs is to pump it all out every few hours.
3. Keeping a log: Every hour we write down where we are, how fast we go and what the weather is like.
4. Race Strategy: We try to find the fastest way in our race. To plan this, we use weather forcasts and maps on the computer.

Part 2 of for the kids at
Rule 1 to stay safe: On windy days and at night always use a lifeline that attaches you to the boat.
2/3/4: It‘s been very hot on the GOSH boat along the coast of Mexico. did his best to drink a lot, use sunscreen and wear a hat. To be honest: He still felt very sweaty.

and Bernadette have been sailing on Team GOSH in the around the world for nine month now. They‘ve learned so much about sailing and life at sea, that they now feel ready to share some with you.
Special greetings to the kids at who are a great motivation for the whole team!
First showing you some sailing skills:
1: Handling a winch. Always hold your pinky towards the winch and don‘t let go too fast ;)
2. Grinding the coffee grinder: This takes a lot of energy so it‘s best done with a friend.
3. Helming: You get to decide where the boat goes.
