Poulton Town Panthers U12’s

This weekend brought on new territory for the Panthers with a double Gameweek.

Saturday saw us host our 3rd league game of the season against a good CN Sports side. The boys looked up for it from the first minute and played some brilliant football throughout and defended well every time CN posed a threat with their undoubted quality throughout. A well earned 3 points to maintain their winning start to the season with another impressive clean sheet. Parents player went to Paddy who bagged himself 4 extremely well taken goals, Coaches player went to our rock at the back, Jack "Spuddy"

This morning saw us make our Lancashire cup debut away to Ribbleton FC. As always when playing a team from outside our own leagues we don't know what to expect so the message was for the boys to settle on the ball, move it quickly and get it into areas where we are most dangerous. The boys started like a freight train and limited Ribbleton to few touches and got a couple of early goals to give us a healthy advantage. This allowed us as coaches to relax a little and the boys began to express themselves and enjoy the game with smiles on their faces. We didn't donate vote for Motm due to so many solid performances but the boys decided to announce their players player as Teddy. Used in a more attacking role for the majority of the game, he managed to bag himself 4 goals.

The boys all wanted treating to a SpudBros on the flag market but they are closed on a Sunday so they decided a maccies would have to do with the majority persuading their parents it was a worthy reward. Well done on a solid weekend of Football boys.

Yesterday morning some of the boys took on the 5k Park run to help raise some funds for the team. They all completed it with some impressive times.

Yesterday the boys competed in the BJFF May Madness Tournament and came away as Cup Champions. The boys performed consistently throughout and only conceded one goal all morning. A first bit of silverware with us for newer faces and hopefully a sign of things to come. Our Player of the Tournament went to JP4 for a solid defensive display with great composure on the ball and a few cameos further up the pitch 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The boys were back at the annual St Anne’s tournament yesterday for a full day of football. After not conceding a goal until the final, unfortunately the boys narrowly lost to earn a runners up medal. Well done to all the boys but a special mention to FG for his brilliant performances throughout the day and being named player of the tournament ⚽️

A Bitter sweet summer at the Panthers. Unfortunately we are losing 3 fantastic players (even better lads) due to academy commitments.

All the hard work that coaching takes is fully justified when you receive pictures like this one though.

We've coached Jacob since he was 5, he started with Blackpool pre academy at under 7s and has been with them ever since. He took one year away from grassroots because of the busy academy schedule but soon found his way back because he missed playing with the lads he'd grown up with.

An absolute man mountain of a player. His strength and use of his body is unrivalled at the age and although he plays as a defender for Blackpool he's been a key attacking threat in a very talented Poulton team.

It's with great pleasure that we can announce that Jacob has just received the Coaches player of the season award for Blackpool FC u11s academy.

We are all incredibly proud of you and your journey Jacob and wish you every bit of success for the future. You'll be missed but we know you'll stay in touch and continue supporting your friends. 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡

The boys were back in the sunshine today for their last game of the season. A fantastic reaction from the boys after a disappointing result last weekend. A great performance against a great opponent. Well done to FN and JR on parents player and coaches player of the match. 🧡⚽️

The boys were back at it this weekend with another league fixture. The opposition were a top side which gave the boys a real challenge. The boys were up for the challenge and put in another fantastic performance. A great debut performance from FG who picked up parents player of the match and JR for another top performance giving him coaches player of the match. Well done boys 🧡

The boys were back in cup action this morning against a top side in Thornton Lions. A tough fought battle saw the boys progress to the semi finals. Fantastic performances by all the lads but a couple of extra special performances saw JP and JR pick up parents player of the match and coaches player of the match. Well done boys 🧡
