It is with great sadness to the announce the passing of one of our favourite ladies who worked at thorn lighting for a number of years always laughing Doreen Gilbert lost her battle on the 8/01/24 at st Catherine’s hospice, her funeral is on the 29/01/24 at 1.30 at Preston crematorium if you want to say your final goodbyes to her she will be sadly missed by a lot of people RIP Doreen 😢🙏

Sorry it’s a bit late, but we have learned of the sad passing of Maureen Chadwick. She used to work in the middle section of of the factory(can’t remember the name) and was a supervisor on her section. She certainly said what was on her mind, but also was very friendly with it.
Rest in peace Maureen, and thoughts go to her family.

Ann Carrington (Mad Ann) turns 50 soon and is celebrating by starting off in Greyfryers on the 22nd August at 3'0clock, hope to see as many of you there as possible. 🥂

The funeral of Paul Shorrock will be held on Wednesday 5th February for anyone wishing to attend.
The ceremony will be held at Blessed Sacrament church, Farrington Lane, Ribbleton at 10am then the crematorium at 11:30am.
The wake will be held at New Meadow Street Labour Club from 12:30pm
Donations are welcome and will be forwarded to St Catherine’s Hospice.

I received news this evening that Paul Shorrock passed away in his sleep last night. Age 60.
That's all I know for now I'm afraid.

25 years ago today I was made redundant.
I remember leaving, clutching that cheque thinking I was Rich.
