The PTTA Finals Night proved to be a fantastic evening of table tennis, bringing together players, members, and supporters for a memorable showcase of skill, competition, and community spirit.

The matches throughout the night were played in a great atmosphere—competitive yet friendly—with players giving their all and producing some excellent rallies and high-quality performances. Spectators were treated to an entertaining display across all finals, highlighting the strength and depth of talent within the league.

We were delighted to have a total of 52 players and spectators in attendance, creating a lively and engaging environment that added to the success of the evening.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your presence helped create a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere that made the night so special.

Special thanks must also go to Andrew Gray and Staining’s Table Tennis Club for kindly providing the equipment for the evening. Your support was greatly appreciated and played a key part in ensuring everything ran smoothly.

A very special thank you to Ann and Barry from the Broughton & District Club for the hire of their club room and for their support on the night. Your hospitality and assistance were instrumental in making the event such a success.

Overall, the night was a great success, and we are excited about the future as we look forward to hosting many more events at the Broughton & District Club.

Here are the results of the matches played on the night.

I have also placed a link to the article on our table Tennis Website page. Here you will find YouTube links for all of the matches that took place on the night. Unfortunately, the Handicap Final did not record and therefore there is no link.

PRESTON CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025/2206

Hello everyone,
A big thank you to all of you who took part in the Preston Closed Championships last Sunday 29th March 2026 – your support and participation made the event a great occasion.

Firstly, our apologies that the lighting wasn’t up to the standard expected and that the heating didn’t come on until the afternoon. We appreciate your patience and understanding on the day.

Despite this, the competition was played in a fantastic spirit – competitive yet friendly throughout – and it certainly made for some exciting matches, with not all of the seeded players having things their own way! By the way, a total of 107 matches were played on the day.

Please take a look at the results charts on the PTTA Website at preston.ttleagues.com for each of the categories to see who progressed through the rounds and how things unfolded

As we only had 4 players enter the Junior event we decided to have a round robin between the players and the top two players would then take part in the Final on Finals Night. I am pleased to announce that Dyfan Innes-Wilkin and Owen Markey are the finalists.

This season, we're excited to be changing the venue of our Finals Night as part of our efforts to promote table to the wider community.

We'd love for you to invite your family and friends along to enjoy the evening and support the event.

It promises to be a great atmosphere, and there will also be a bar open on the night for refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 17th April at:

The Broughton & District Club,
Whittingham Lane,
Preston
PR3 5DA

Thanks again for your continued support.

Kind Regards,
Manoj
