A really close game this morning, with the Reds falling on the wrong side of the score sheet, but all finishing the game with smiles on their faces after putting in a great performance! ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ”ด Efrem - Followed up last weeks fantastic defensive performance with more of the same today, some great tackling and positioning! ๐Ÿงฑ

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie - The skipper was great down the right-hand side again, lots of hard work, winning us the ball back and driving us u0 the pitch. Great Assist for our opening goal ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

๐Ÿ”ด Dara - Arriving just before kick-off, Dara was thrust into the action, he got 2 gals and an assist, playing really well when covering defence in the 2nd half! โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Hudson - A really good performance from our engine on the left-hand side. Winning the ball in midfield and passing forward really well! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Teddy - Played well in the first half as striker, putting pressure on the decfence. Played on the right in the 2nd half and used his clever footwork to get us forward ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”ด Today's Parents POTM was Jude who was filling in for Sam in goals. He made some fantastic saves and great goal kicks ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿ”ด Today's POTM was Nancy who's early morning training session paid off. She bagged 2 goals and an assist in her new boots. She was quality with her back to goal too! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ†

Overall, a great display by the Reds, some quality passing and team work! ๐Ÿ™Œโค๏ธโšฝ๏ธ

With no league fixtured this week, we arranged a Friendly with Kingsfold at Penwortham Priory ๐Ÿฅ

Both teams had 7 players and the pitch was 7-a-side, so rather than having players stood on the sideline, we decided to switch up the format ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”ด Sam - The birthday boy played some fantastic goal kicks today, launching us into attack on a few concisions!

๐Ÿ”ด Jude - Commanding at the back and comfortable on the ball.

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie - Said he felt unstoppable in his first game as Captain. He played like it too!

๐Ÿ”ด Teddy - Great to have Teddy back in the squad after a few weeks off with an Injury. His touch and footwork were brilliant!

๐Ÿ”ด Nancy - Played with flair and determination today. Some fantastic link up play!

๐Ÿ”ด Today's Parents Player of the Match was Efrem who put in a fantastic performance at the back. Put in some crucial challenges and read the game really well ๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿ”ด Today's Coaches Player of the Match was Dara who scored our goal with a fabulous strike. He was back to his best today great defensively then carrying us up the pitch and causing chaos when attacking ๐Ÿ†โšฝ๏ธ

The match finished level and everyone left the pitch with a smile on their face! Football really was the winner today โค๏ธ

It was also lovely to play against our old team mates Aiden and Joseph and a big thanks to Callum for reffing the game ๐Ÿ™Œ

A tightly fought game this morning saw The Reds on the wrong side of the result but still a very enjoyable game to watch ๐Ÿ˜Š

With 3 players missing all the players got plenty of minutes under their belts ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”ด Jude - Put in some good tackles in the first half in defence. In the 2nd half he went up top and got himself a goal โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Efrem - Scored a great goal in the first half, lobbing the keeper with his Kneed finish...only to see it chalked off by VAR (Judes kick in was thought to have been over head height). Really solid display in his usual defensive position in 2nd half.

๐Ÿ”ด Toby - An unusually quite 1st half from Toby, but much more like his usual self in the second half driving us up the pitch. Got himself a goal when playing at striker for the last 5 mins โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie - Did well as a make shift striker in the first half, nearly scoring with his head! Played in his favoured right wing position in the 2nd half and did some great dribbling.

๐Ÿ”ด Dara - Played on the left wing and did well going forwards and defensively. Put in some great corners that we woukd have scored from on another day.

๐Ÿ”ด Today's POTM was Sam who put in a great goalkeeping display and pulled off an absolute worldie of a save that was heading for his top right hand corner. Great kicking and commanding of his box ๐Ÿ†

On to the next one!

Fantastic Morning of Football at the Mid Lancs Colts U8s Trophy event! Great event and well organised!

The Lostock Reds did really well! Started strong and Won our first group game!

Ended up in a Penalty shoot out to decide who finished 2nd...and we won, with all takers scorung ๐Ÿ™Œ

Some great passing in our 1/4 final, but unfortunately we concrded a goal. We pushed for an equaliser in the dying seconds of the game and sent Sam forward for a corner...but it wasn't to be, they broke and got a 2nd goal.

Really proud of them all though! Great effort all round โค๏ธโšฝ๏ธ

Massive thanks to Preston North End Football Club and PNE Community and Education Trust for having us ๐Ÿ™Œ

We arrived at the match today with no pitch to play on and no referee. Luckily, we managed to get a pitch set up and Coach Lee M found a whistle and reffed the game for us ๐Ÿ™Œ

It was an unusually bad day at the office for the Reds this morning. It happens sometimes in football. Our energy wasn't great in the first half and our passes weren't coming off ๐Ÿ˜ž

We asked them to raise their energy in the second half and it was a much better performance from all of them ๐Ÿ‘

We were proud of how they responded and the effort they put in to try and bring us back into the game ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ”ด Sam - Looked great in goal in his new blue strip! Unlucky not to score right at the end!

๐Ÿ”ด Efrem - In his first game as March Skipper he played really well as striker in the second half putting pressure on the defenders.

๐Ÿ”ด Jude - Grabbed a goal when he was up top in the first half and an assist when he was at the back in the second half.

๐Ÿ”ด Toby - Lots of energy in the second half. Pinged some awesome balls into the box!

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie - Worked hard on the right had side and got an assist.

๐Ÿ”ด Dara - Some good defensive blocks and a good cross for Jude's goal.

๐Ÿ”ด Nancy - Showed us her unbelievable close control today, bringing down Sams goal kicks. The opposition coach was well impressed!

๐Ÿ”ด Today's POTM was Hudson. He hit the back of the net twice and gave us the much needed energy lift in the second half ๐Ÿ†

Well done to all the kids and to Lee M for ensuring the game went ahead! โค๏ธโšฝ๏ธ

Appologies for the delayed Match Report due to Manager Lee, Coach Tom and Centre Back Jude being on a scouting mission in Belfast today ๐Ÿ€

Assistant Gaffer Lee M took charge for this game and his report is below:

๐Ÿ”ด Sam: Great game again today for our no.1! He was very unfortunate to concede a couple of deflected goals but made some great saved and fantastic distribution with his hands and feet.

๐Ÿ”ด Dara: Played defence and midfield today and managed to get himself a couple of assists! He was also unlucky not to be on the scoresheet after a screamer came back of the post.

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie: Our stand-in skipper led by example operating as a striker and more familar wide right. Beckham-esque corners and plenty of energy again today!

๐Ÿ”ด Hudson: Like a gazelle up and down the wing! Non-stop running with some great close control and mazy runs.

๐Ÿ”ด Nancy: Bagged a brace, cool, calm and composed on the ball with great footwork laying it off for others. Standard Nancy.

๐Ÿ”ด Toby: MOM went to Toby. Scored a great goal from distance in the first half and was an absolute rock in defence in the second half with some great blocks and strong tackles.

What a great team effort!! Worked so hard and some great football played! Unfortunate with a couple of big deflections for their goals! Very proud coach this morning ๐Ÿ‘

Well done to all involved!

With the games at Penny Holme rained off we managed to arrange a Friendly game against another side from our league.

The game was at the old stomping ground of Coach Lee Moat (aka Moaty 69), Corpus Christi High School.

It was a real game of two halves, more accurately, four quarters! After going a couple of goals behind in the first 10 mins, the kids were encouraged to use the extra wide pitch to their advantage and we turned it around and played much better in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Quarters!

It was a narrow victory for the Reds in the game and then onto the classic post friendly Penalty shoot-out. Sam made some great saves, but Cadley ran out winners of the Pens.

๐Ÿ”ด Sam - Keeps getting better every week, some great saves and accurate kicking again today ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ”ด Efrem - After a fantastic training session on Thursday, he took it onto the pitch today, some tough tackling and good passes forward๐Ÿงฑ

๐Ÿ”ด Toby - Great to have him back on the side today, a fantastic performance up and down the right-hand side, some brilliant balls into the box. Unlucky not to get a goal today๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ”ด Ronnie - Great dribbling and some excellent crosses. Forced a goal from one of his awesome corners โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Hudson - An amazing 2nd Half, the opposition struggled to cope with him going forward and he used his pace to track back and help out in defence too. Scored a great solo effort, a composed finish after bearing 2 players โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Dara - Got himself a goal and could have had a few, worked hard on the left, put in some brilliant crosses and some great tracking back too! โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Nancy - Was frustrated not to get on the score sheet, but the coaches were really pleased with the way she played with her back to goal. The way she takes in the ball and then brings the wingers into play is really good to watch! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

๐Ÿ”ด Teddy - Was unlucky not to score after he got himself into a great position to get on the end of Toby's low cross to the back post. His pressing work today was crucial to our performance; he regularly forced the mistakes that allowed Dara to cary us up the pitch ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ด Today's POTM was Jude who put in a solid defensive display, some really tough tackles. He also used his calmness on the ball and passing ability to dictate the play from the back ๐Ÿ†

Well done to all involved, a great hour of rainy football! Especially loved it today when all the subs from both teams were involved in a spontaneous mini-game at the side of the pitch when they weren't involved in the main game ๐Ÿ˜โšฝ๏ธโค๏ธ
