A quick reminder we’ve got a special meet and greet in store this afternoon. If anyone is available it’s a great opportunity to play a leg against Jack, one of the best up and coming young players in darts. Well then have a relaxed drop-in session between 5-6pm for the kids to have some matches on the automatic scorers. 👇👇

🚨 Friday 24 July: Drop-in Session 🚨

This Friday one of the best young players in the country is visiting our store. Jack is in a great position to qualify for Ally Pally at the end of the year and he’ll be playing against customers throughout the afternoon.

The event with Jack runs from 3pm - 5pm and I’m planning on holding a drop in session for the Academy between 5pm - 6pm.

If any members are free on Friday, it’s a great opportunity to play a leg against Jack and, as long as there is enough interest, we’ll have an hour afterwards for the kids to play matches and have some fun.

🚨 SESSION CANCELLED 16 JULY 🚨

Last week was just about bearable with the heat but it’s looking like it will be a good few degrees warmer tomorrow☀️☀️. I have therefore decided to cancel the session this Thursday evening. Formal sessions will start again after Summer on Thursday 3 September.

In the next day or two I will send out a list of dates for various drop-in sessions that will take place over Summer. These are an opportunity for members to see each other during the break and we’ll do a few little comps if enough attend.

I have also spoken to Pete and the planned tournament in Longridge this Sunday is going to be postponed until after Summer. This will allow a lot more to attend. I will communicate a date and time for this asap.

A big thank-you to everyone who has supported the Academy since we started 7 or 8 months ago.

Whilst we take a break over Summer, I will be working hard on various developments to ensure members are given the best possible opportunity for future development and progression!

Whilst the two sessions will go ahead as usual tonight, if any kids are struggling with the heat and would prefer to give their session a miss this week, that is absolutely fine. There is no requirement to give notice.

For those attending, please ensure you have a drink. For obvious reasons shorts and light clothing are recommended.

🚨 THU 25 JUN- SESSION CANCELLED 🚨

With the very high temperature forecast on Thursday, and lack of air con on the premises, I have decided to cancel this week’s session. As the session goes on, I think the heat may just be a bit too uncomfortable for the kids (and parents!).

I mentioned last week that we will start doing in house tournaments the last Thursday of every month. I will go through the format and rules with all the kids this evening before we kick off.

If your child is unable to attend tonight, please can you let me know asap so I can make amendments to the structure.
