💙💙💙 Glenburn Blues continued their league campaign at Home to Irvine Meadow Reds on Saturday 💙💙💙

First half the boys started well, some good passages of play with playing out from the back, possession and passing allowed us to control the game and we seen ourselves 2 nill up. However a few mistakes and lack of communication from the boys allowed Irvine Meadow back into the game and the first half finished 2 - 2.

Second half the boys fired themselves up, and started really well, some really good football played by the boys, can really see the drills we are doing at training are working! We managed to get a 2 goal lead again however a good free kick from Irvine Meadow brought it back to 4-3, however the boys continued to put the pressure on and managed to get the 5th goal. Game finished 5-4. Another 3 points, top of the table with 2 games to go 💪

💛💙Kilwinning Rangers 3
Glenburn Yellows 5💛💙

The boys started brilliantly yesterday, quickly going into a 2 nil lead. Winning battles all around the pitch and playing decent football on a tight pitch. By half time, we were up 4-0.

Second half was a different story. We lacked discipline in our shape, and were second best to lots of first and second balls. This let Kilwinning, who changed their shape at half time, back into the game and it quickly went 4-2.

Glenburn reassembled and credit to Dylan Nimmo who went on and steadied things at the back. This led to us getting back into the ascendency and Stephen Simpson scored a vital 5th goal.

Kilwinning got a late penalty for the game to end 5-3 Glenburn.

The coaches man of the match award was split between three deserving players. Lucas Dougall (sponsored by Ice Cream Factory Troon) for his couple of saves at 4-2 that were vital in keeping us in the lead. Stephen Simpson for his endless workrate and 2 goals. Kallen Knapp for his involvement in almost all of our 5 goals.

Delighted with the 3 points but the drop in performance level from first half to second half was not something we were pleased with.

Thanks to Kilwinning Rangers for a tough match and all the best for the rest of the season 🙌

💙💙 Glenburn Blues continued their campaign last Saturday at home to Whitletts Victoria FC. Both teams sat top of the table on equal points so was going to be a close game. 💙💙

First half Glenburn started slow, bit sluggish and Whitletts controlled much of the first half. Whitletts took the lead however Glenburn finished the first half strong and managed to get the equaliser before half time.

Second half, the boys knew they could play better and started the half strong, however Whitletts managed to capitalise after a mistake and took the lead again. The boys composed themselves and started playing the ball well, lots of good passes and fought for every ball. Piling on the pressure they managed to get the equaliser again. But they didnt stop there the boys knew they could get the win, and continued to attack, some lovely feet work and through ball from Max to Sam who showed some really good composure to slot the ball in the goal for the win.

Game finished 3-2. Another 3 points on the board ⚽️⚽️💪

Special mention to Carson and Manuel who didnt stop running the whole game. Great work ethic and battled for everyball, makes them today's Coaches men of the match

A very good game to watch and credit to Whitletts who showed today how good a team they are!

💙💛 Glenburn Yellows march into the next round of the Scottish Cup 💛💙

Glenburn 7
Cambusdoon 0

The boys pulled off an outstanding team display, to earn a 7-0 win and a place in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup.

Our early intensity and pressure allowed us to go into a 2-0 lead and from then on, the football flowed.

Pleasing to see lots of elements of our training being put into matches.

🏆💪🏼 Man of the match goes to Goudie (who is proudly sponsored by Thomas Little, Wind & Yard Specialist) for his non-stop energy in midfield and ability to play the crucial killer passes early in the match to help unlock the Cambusdoon defence.

Fair play to Cambusdoon who never stopped from start to finish. We wish them all the best for the rest of the season

We look forward to a 3rd round tie at home to Bonnyton.

Thank you as always to all of our sponsors!

Glenburn Yellows 2
Cambusdoon 2

An exciting match that we dominated for large spells. After being 2 nil up, our concentration slipped slightly which let Cambusdoon back into the match late in the second half.

We had enough chances to win the match near the end but a few brilliant saves from Cambusdoon’s goalkeeper meant it was a point apiece in the league.

💙💙💙 Glenburn Blues travelled to Kilmarnock to face Bonnyton FC 💙💙💙

First half boys did well especially against the wind, tried to get the ball on the ground and play, but Bonnyton shut down a few of our attacks. We managed to break the deadlock first but Bonnyton quickly equalised. We did well to recover and managed to get 2 good goals but a few mistakes let Bonnyton capitalise and they equalised to make the game 3-3 at half time.

Second half we looked very sluggish, few tired legs and Bonnyton controlled the game. Few injuries to our boys didnt help, with Bonnyton scoring 2 goals to take the lead 5-3. The boys picked themselves up and for the last 15 minutes they played out their socks! Fought for every ball and managed to get a goal back from a free kick. Equaliser should have happened from another free kick however it was expertly cleared of the line by one of our boys😂

Game finished 6-4 to Bonnyton.

Can't fault the boys effort when it mattered, few learning lessons to take from the game. But we dust ourselves off for our Scottish cup game Saturday 💪

💛💛💛 Glenburn Yellows v Crosshouse Community 💛💛💛

Glenburn 6 Crosshouse 2

Glenburn started this match very slowly, giving up too much space in key areas which allowed crosshouse to take a deserved lead. We answered back quickly through a sublime left foot volley finish from Kaiden Goudie.

Crosshouse found too much space again through the centre of our team and despite the best efforts of keeper Ally Wood, they increased their lead, but again, we were quickly able to respond with a fine goal from Kallen Knapp.

Halftime 2-2. Coaches gave the boys a reminder of our standards and the performance level second half was far better and the goals quickly flowed with Ted Gordon causing havoc down the right with his overlapping runs and Stephen (x2) and Luka Moffat both hitting the back of net.

The match finished off nicely when Clayton Gibson superbly hit the ball with a left foot volley at the back post to end the match 6-2 to Glenburn.

💙💙💙 Glenburn Blue welcomed AC Irvine for our 5th game of the season 💙💙💙

Another fantastic effort and performance put in by the boys!

First half, Glenburn controlled the game, creating lots of chances with some brilliant through balls. Boys were linking up well and building play from the back finishing the half 3-0.

Second half the boys continued their efforts, quickly shutting down AC Irvine so they couldn't build any momentum. 3 quick fire goals to end the game keeping us top of the table and 3 points clear 💪⚽️.

Think the boys broke the record for most offsides today😂😂

Special mention to both out goalkeepers Alfie and Alexander. First clean sheet of the season🧤⚽️
