The Fleece at Farsley

After a tough few weeks, it all came down to the last game of the season. A opportunity for 3 different teams to all get promoted. A Fleece win was needed away at K Town who battered us last week and haven’t lost at home all year, as well as Leeds Juniors to drop points at Farnley.

Fleece took an early lead with a penalty through James Shaw after some great work from Tommy Reynolds. A second shortly after with from a Owen Thompson free kick.

Shortly after half time we conceded, but fired back through a James Shaw header to seal his brace.

With only 11 men, we dug in deep for the last 20 minutes and showed real fight.

Coming out 3-2 winners with fight and grit, we were waiting on results elsewhere…

Our two biggest rivals this season in Farnley and Leeds Juniors ended 2-2 which saw us gain promotion 🏅

As we WAVE bye bye to division 3, we look forward to a good challenge next season and hopefully some silverware.

Tomorrow sees us finally return to the Leeds Combination Association Football League after a couple weeks break.

We welcome K Town United in what will be a huge game in the race for the title.

After dropping off top spot for the first time this season the lads are fired up and ready to go.

Many of you know Ray through football, playing for Sporting Pudsey FC. Following a serious accident, he is currently in ICU in Turkey. With insurance complications causing huge stress, his family are raising funds to help cover his medical bills.

Last week saw us take on Farnley Reserves away from home.

With limited numbers due to Leeds United playing & a number of injurys, two of the assistant managers made up the 11 out on the pitch.

Limited numbers is no excuse and we only have ourselves to blame. The game saw us lose 10-4 and Farnley were the better team on the day.

Quickly putting last week behind us we turn our attention to Leeds Juniors away this Sunday.

Three huge games left for the lads to win this league 🏆

Match Report: Mawson Cup Semi-Final ⚽️💔
Heartbreak on Sunday as we faced Leeds Juniors in the semi-final of the Mawson Cup.

After a goalless first half, we came out flying! Goals from Ellz Maville and Cam McNiven put us 2-0 up and in the driving seat. 📈

However, Leeds Juniors fought their way back to 2-1. A tough red card then left us down to 10 men, and despite the lads defending with everything they had to reach the final, Leeds Juniors managed to find two more goals. The nail in the coffin was a last-minute header from a corner, resulting in a 3-2 loss.

Eyes on the prize now! 🏆
We have 4 games left in the league and every single one is a must-win to ensure we finish top. We go again next week away to Farnley Reserves for what will be a massive battle for 3 points. 👊
