I often get asked when is best to do my cardio ?🏃‍♀️

The answer varies depending on your goals.
If your goal is running then cardio comes first for example but if your goal is strength/ building muscle then cardio should be done after.

For this post we will go with strength training as the goal.

There are 3 main ways to get your cardio in:

✅Immediately after your workout (added to the end)

✅On a separate day to your strength workout 🏋️‍♀️

✅Mixed in with your workout

But as always it’s the one the fits In to your life that you can actually do consistently that is the best option.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO STICK TO ANYTHING! 🤯

Isn’t it so frustrating when you begin a workout routine or eating healthy and within a week or so you’re struggling to stick to it or completely falling off !!!

It can feel like a never ending loop of starting again and again.

But this is normal, it happens to most of us and it is something you can change with practice, time and kindness.

“You can’t hate your self out of this one I’m afraid!”

So to get you started making some positive changes here are some of my tips that have helped me and things I’m still using now.

Change is something that is a process and takes time and you will find your self often having to come back to things, and try other things.
It isn’t a linear process. Somethings work for some and not for others, it’s trial and error.

Change can also be harder for people who struggle with perfectionist traits, because nothing is perfect and change is FAR from it, so we get stuck in feeling like we are a failure for not getting it right the first time or not doing something as well as we thought we could etc.

Keep reminding your self that change is messy, uncomfortable and absolutely within your control.💪

10 things I want you to know - When you focus on exercising again after time off or
Being a beginner.

1. You don’t need a perfect time, place or date to start.
2. Get clear on your goals.
3. What are your biggest barriers?
4. Is your environment set up to help you or hinder you?
5. Do you have a support system?
6. Do you know your reason why?
7. Have you planned for the week ahead?
8. Invest in a coach.
9. Find your community.
10. Don’t give up!

It can be overwhelming when we start something new or are getting back into it again after some time off.
So keep it as simple as possible and make it your main priority to just start something as soon as possible.
Then as you get the ball rolling so to speak you can start thinking about things bit more and adding more things in.

It doesn’t all have to be done in one go :)

Do you actually know how many reps you should be doing for your goal? 👀
If you’ve never thought about it… this could be why your progress feels slow.

There are 4 main training goals:
• Power
• Strength
• Hypertrophy (muscle building)
• Endurance

Each one has its own ideal:
✔️ Rep range
✔️ Weight (load)
✔️ Rest time

Get these right, and you move forward.
Get them wrong, and you risk spinning your wheels.

Small tweaks = big results over time.
Drop a comment below - what’s YOUR main goal right now? 💬

The gym fears keeping you stuck… and what to do about it 👇
Walking into the gym can feel like being the “new kid” all over again 😅
So if you’ve been avoiding it, here’s what’s actually going on vs what you think…

You think:
Everyone is watching you, judging how you lift, move, exist…
Reality:
No one’s paying attention. Everyone’s in their own world - counting reps, checking their phone, worrying about themselves (just like you).

You think:
“I’ve got no idea how to use this… I’ll just hide on the treadmill.”
Try this:
Ask for help. Book a gym induction or speak to a PT.
Confidence comes from knowing what you’re doing - not avoiding it.

You think:
“I don’t know if I’m lifting enough… what if I hurt myself?”
Try this:
Learn the basics or get guidance.
The right plan + proper form = progress without the fear.

You think:
“I don’t have time or money right now.”
Try this:
Start small. 10 mins at home > nothing.
You don’t need perfect—you just need to start.

✨ You deserve to feel confident in the gym.
