Due to a change in schedule we have been allocated a league fixture this weekend against Rogue Wanderers

Stop the count! Back at Redvales and the lads showed pure resilience to enact revenge on our recent cup loss. 3-0 down at HT meant a strong team talk and tactical change. The lads came out flying in the second half when Simon got us 1 goal back from a rebound outside the box. The visitors lead was pinned back yet again shortly after when Sam won a free kick on the edge of the box, which was neatly dispatched by Dan from the set piece. The equaliser didn’t take long either when Elliott played the ball to Simon, who beat his man calmly before firing the ball into top right corner from about 25 yards out. After making it 3-3 the lads kept fighting with a few mins left on the clock and a series of chances passed by. However, one final corner in the 90th minute saw Jack B put the perfect ball in for Mike T to rise the highest and secure a monumental 4 goal comeback! The lads now sit 2nd in the table in the promotion spots! Unfortunately, we have 2 weeks off before our rearranged cup game fixture.

Due to a fixture clash our game last weekend was postponed. Our fixture tomorrow is back at Redvales for a league game against recent opponents Middletonians.

Another game at Bowlee this weekend and another defeat, this time in the cup. The lads started promising early on when Sam headed home from Jack Y’s perfect cross. The hosts drew back level straight away from no less than a rugby tackle on our defence that somehow wasn’t pulled back for a foul. Middletonians started to run away with the game after heads dropped and poor second half. We managed to find a late consolation goal towards the end when a trivela through ball from Sam found Jack K who sent the keeper the wrong way and calmly slotted home. The lads look to get back to winning ways next week in the main cup.

A result post almost as late as the referee. Last Sunday saw our first game away from Redvales, our first defeat of the season and a missed chance to go top of the league. The lads took a 2-0 lead in the first half, but were unable to hold out for the rest of the game after a disappointing performance. Congrats to the opposition for a well deserved win. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways in the cup tomorrow!

The lads had a field day today down at Redvales, following up a disappointing draw from last week with a dominating emphatic win this week! The first half had many Holcombe chances and the lads went 1-0 up early on, when a quick one-two between Harry and Sam in the box lead to Sam slotting the ball under the keeper’s right arm. This was quickly followed up with an excellent counter attack from Jack and Elliott, playing through Sam again, who doubled his tally after taking on a few defenders before slotting the ball into the keeper’s near post. 3-0 came quickly after from a Crompton mistake, which was punished with tidy finish from Elliott. Around the half hour mark saw Holcombe take a 4-0 lead, as another Elliott assist preceded a lobbed effort from Sam over the keeper to secure the hat-trick! The second half was less energetic as we tried to see out the win. A lovely goal from Harry carried on Holcombe’s fine goal scoring form, as he took the ball around keeper from a penetrating through ball from Joe. Unfortunately, the lads could not keep the clean sheet, but the game was finished off with 2 goals from Jack. A trademark cross that floated in and lovely near post strike, after being slotted through by Sam. That win sees Holcombe reach 2nd in the table and still unbeaten going into next week’s game against local rivals Irwell Town!
