💪🏾But the 42 year old version of me in 2023, is more aligned with how I see myself and want to look.

🗓️I propose that it takes wayyyy longer than you would perhaps imagine,🤔to lose weight and adapt your physique.

💪🏾I really love nutrition coaching clients for their health and fat loss goals.

🧐But I sometimes second-guess myself and ask if I’m doing a good enough job.

(It’s normal I guess. When you love your job, you to want to be really great at it.)

🚪Then this morning I received this on my doorstep….

The most delicious chocolates 🍫😋 but it was the card 💌that got me.

👩‍❤️‍👩The message was truly special🥹 from a nutrition coaching client who made outstanding🤩 progress this year.

✅Everything she achieved was because of her, and her ability to persist🏋🏾‍♀️even in the moments and days she didn’t feel like it.

👩🏻‍💼She is in a senior job that demands excellence,🏡children and husband, a home life that demands attention and time.

But this determined woman always found the hours to also prioritise her health🫀, well-being and the fat loss goals💃🏻 she wanted for herself.

And reading her card today, I thought… Ayesha you do a good job and you’re very lucky to attract the clients you do👩‍❤️‍👩

This morning we did all of the big 5 lifts…
✅Overhead press
✅Chest/ bench press

Felt half-dead ☠️ at the end😁 in that good way you do after a challenging workout 😊

🤔But just the big 5 lifts aren’t enough….

🌟They are excellent at working through the saggital plane.

But we also want to work the body in the other 2 planes of motion.
✅We add in rotational work for the transverse plane.
✅We add in side to side movements for the frontal plane.

A well-designed exercise plan is a great key🔑to long-term positive health and physique results 💪🏽🏋🏽‍♀️

🤔Wanting to lose weight with diet alone?

🛑Bad idea!

👀When losing weight from eating a calorie-reduced diet, fat mass as well as muscle mass is lost.

⚖️In overweight people, 20-30 % of total weight loss is muscle mass.

⚖️In normal (BMI) weight people, the loss of muscle mass is often as much as 35% or more of the total weight loss!

🏋🏽‍♀️💪🏼Don’t skip your resistance training. Lifting weights will help to preserve your all-important muscle mass (and BMR,) when in a calorie deficit.

Why has my scale-weight gone up?

Don't panic... it's normal for us to fluctuate😊

🌮🥗Nutrition, “body-goals” and real life.

👩‍🎓As a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach (PN1-NC) I choose to work with clients who have fat-loss goals in mind.

👫My clients tend to be female.

⚖️I help them with fat loss as that happens to be the market that approaches me, it happens to be something that interests me and what I also achieved for myself this year.

🤔I recognise the value in a body fat percentage closer to BMI for the average person and the benefits it brings to long-term health.

🏋🏼‍♀️👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏾When working with clients on fat-loss goals, the focus is behaviour change, food education where appropriate and the encouragement and instilling of long-term positive habits.

🕰️It takes a long time to make lasting, solid progress in terms of fat-loss.

⏳Once you achieve your goal weight, the positive behaviours don’t stop… we look to get you to a maintenance calorie level, and have you continue excellent exercise 💪🏼 and movement habits.

🙇‍♀️Even when you get to a weight loss goal, you’ll find that your body still looks “normal” you’ll likely still be able to find flaws in it.

👀There will still be days you wake up and don’t feel amazing in your body - but that’s just real life.

❓The reason you lose the weight is to be…

🤨A more confident you? Yes, sure…
but no-ones confident all the time!

🩺🫀A healthier you? Definitely!! - and this one… a version of you that eats really well, moves more, prioritises exercise, sleep and recovery is the real win.
She is the strong and disciplined woman, the honest and self-aware woman I want to help you to be 🙏🏼

Yesterday and today😁.. we were celebrating the beautiful Nayan Mistry 50th birthday🎉🎂

👩‍❤️‍👩This is a lady I met 3 years ago as a client, who has become a dear friend.

👀She also happens to be the most popular person I’ve ever known - loved by all 😊😊 a pure soul.

💪🏼When I started working with her, and if I work with you as a client, because of the nature of our work…

💞the relationship ended/ends up becoming a friendship and a sisterhood.

I’m a feelings person so this review has left me emotional🥹and grateful 🫶😊

🗓️This lovely gentleman started working with me at the beginning of this year.

💡He had a clear weight-loss goal in mind.

🫀💪🏻Wanting to go down from 96kg to 83kg, this wasn’t just for vanity reasons it had a strong health focus.

😕We had some sticking points where we both agreed progress wasn’t happening how we wanted.

🙏🏽Back and forth honest conversations about doing the work, mindset, open lines of communication, weight loss strategy was adapted as time 🕰️ went on.

Well… we started making good progress and then making great progress!!🤩😎

He absolutely smashed his fat-loss goal! 🥅🙌🏽 and we completed our nutrition journey this month, after 8 months working together.

🛠️We both agree he has all the tools he needs and can continue his health and wellness journey, knowing how capable and competent is.

✅If there’s one thing I want you to learn with me, when nutrition coaching for fat loss, it’s that you really don’t need to cut out your favourite foods🧐

You don’t have to remove the desserts🍨or drinks🍹you enjoy.

🌟You can still have everything, but just not all at once, and not all the time!😁😁

⚖️We do need to create a calorie deficit through both nutrition🥙and movement🏋🏽‍♀️,so some discipline and some perceived discomfort😕will be inevitable.

🙏🏼Being uncomfortable for some of the time… that’s just the truth…

💚Fat loss isn’t easy, or a walk-in-the-park.

👯‍♀️But it’s totally worth it if it’s what you really want; you’re an adult who knows her own mind.

🤨You know what you’re willing to work for better than anyone else.

🏖️Perhaps you’re planning a holiday abroad and wondering what nutritional intake and movement🚶🏽‍♀️would look like…

🤔You may give this even more importance if you have body/ fat loss goals.

💚Here’s my approach…

🏋🏽‍♀️I train first thing almost every holiday morning because I ❤️exercise for human health and I have a surplus of energy on hols💪🏼

🍳🥐Then it’s breakfast with my family👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Easily my favourite meal on holiday😊

🥮I always have a dessert type item in the morning e.g. today was a banana and nut muffin🤤 (I don’t take issue with sugar consumption in moderation 🙌🏽)

3️⃣Being a 3 meal a day person, I actually switch to 2 big meals on holiday.
Lunch is usually swapped for my favourite fruit 🍌plus a ☕️

🍲Dinner then becomes a more generous portion than I’d have at home😋

🧠In my mindset, I understand nutrition will either match movement to keep the body weight stable. (My current goal that directs my eating style and volume.)

📈Nutrition can exceed daily movement resulting in weight gain.

📉Or nutrition is intentionally less than movement to reach weight loss⌛️goals.

😁Weight gain tends to be easy because food is delicious LOL! 👀

🤨Weight maintenance or loss aren’t complicated.. they both just require that little bit more discipline. Weight loss certainly being harder as you’re having to create a deficit ⚖️

💛Progress made by a nutrition coaching client who is almost at his goal weight of around 83-85kg 😌

We started working together at the beginning of this year and had a few yo-yo 🪀 months.

But since mid April, he has been giving it 💯and we have seen excellent progress being made 😊

This client has a demanding job, loves lifting heavy 🏋🏾, and now also likes cardio 🫀😁 plus uses a high protein diet as part of his fat-loss strategy.
