We have a range of fi****ms which we shoot at Bisley Shooting Centre, Surrey. We own air pistols, air rifles, smallbore rifles and fullbore rifles.
All of these are available for members to use free of charge. Your membership covers: use of fi****ms, insurance for the fi****ms (not covered by sportsfed) and use of any equipment such as jackets, gloves, slings etc. Please note, ammunition is not covered, this is paid after each shoot depending on how much you use.
Hi everyone, please if you haven’t already joined our dedicated FB page, please do so, as all announcements will be there form now on.
Unfortunately, we have also filled all places for the upcoming day trip, meaning that if you haven’t already received a confirmation email; you will not be able to attend the shoot.
Thank you so much for the massive amount of interest that we have received, and rest assured if you didn’t happen to make this shoot, there will be more in the future.
Pistol and Rifle committee
Thank you so very much for the interest you have all shown yesterday. Sorry for the delay, however we have finally got some information for you. We can now confirm that there is going to be a freshers trip this Sunday.
Also more good news. We have made necessary arrangements to free up several more places on the trip. Details are as follows.
Date: Sunday, 30 September
Meeting Point: Car Park behind Union.
Dress: Something that will keep you warm, good walking shoes (may be slightly muddy)
Note: Lunch is not included however there are food for sale at Bisley so worry not
I understand that it is very early in the morning especially for a Sunday however in order to make the most of our time there, safety briefing as well as to ensure that everyone has more than 1 shot at the range, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be ON TIME. Once we have gathered everyone we will make our way to Bisley.
Now as we have mentioned before, this is FIRST COME FIRST SERVED so therefore reply to the email or on facebook ASAP to secure your place 🙂
And also, I understand this is a free freshers trip, however if you have signed up to the trip then please try you best to commit to coming on Sunday.
For people who cannot make the Sunday trip, depending on the response we may have another trip coming up in a couple of weeks.
Finally, once again thank you for showing interest in the Pistol and Rifle Club and I hope you will come back and join us for future trips.

PS, If anyone has a car or can drive the minibus, we really need someone right now.
The club is currently in the process of re-affiliating with the necessary legal and governing bodies after a period of inactivity at the university. Watch this space and hopefully we shall be fully functional in the near future
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)
If you aren't receiving our emails, please let us know at [email protected] so we can get it sorted :)
Thank you for signing up for our mailing list at the Freshers Fayre! Sorry we didn't have any flyers to hand out but we were glad to see so many of you showing an interest in our club.
Our plan is to hold our first event next Wednesday 16th October. We will meet at 11:50 in car park 4 behind the union building and head the National Shooting Centre in Bisley. We will be back no later than 5pm. There will be limited spaces on this event but if there is enough interest we will run another free event the following week.
The event will be FREE to club members!!!! However you will need to be a club member to go as otherwise you are not covered by our insurance. Membership is only £10 and covers not only the travel to this shoot but also equipment hire for the entire year.
Previous experience in using rifles is not needed in our club as we aim to coach all members to a competition level. We also have plenty of rifles to go round for everyone to use. We have many different types of rifles, so if you don't like one type, you're welcome to try something else.
We go shooting on Wednesdays. We are looking into starting Saturday trips to Bisley too if many of you are interested. But we will be sorting that out in a few weeks once we get you all settled into the club.
If you would like to pay membership, you can do this by going into the Union and paying at Reception or online at http://rusu.co.uk/sports/6339/ and pressing "join" on the top right hand corner. You will need to have an account with RUSU first though. This is really simple to make and all you will need is your Student Number handy.
So to summarise, if you want to come shooting, meet at 11:50 (do not be late as we will be leaving at noon). You MUST also be a paid member of the club to attend any of our events for insurance and legal reasons.
If you have any problems or questions about anything, please feel free to get in touch.
Looking forward to shooting with you.
The committee :)
