Marske Athletic U16's 10-0 Darlington Spraire Lads U16'S

Marske Athletic U16's hosted Darlington Spraire Lads in Division 2 this morning. The boys started the game well as played some excellent direct football and creating numerous chances and we were soon 2 goals up.

Darlington were an extremely physical side and after our positive start, we chose to get involved in the physicality rather than concentrate on our own game.

The boys listened to our team talk and started playing to our strengths, which the opposition could not live with.

Another excellent performance. Well done boys.

The Leigh Austin Player of the match was Joel. Outstanding in the middle of the park once again.

Marske Athletic u12s hosted Trimdon u12.

It was a very difficult game to get into with Trimdon taking the first lead early on. Marske Athletic took a second hit with Trimdon taking a 2-0 lead.

Marske responded well and showed strength, determination and pure grit, standing their ground.

Ethan then broke the net with a power shot just over the half way line bringing the fire back to Marskes game play before half time.

Team talk showed that Trimdon wanted to win this game at any cost.

A mistake showed Trimdon take on yet another early goal in the second half.

Marske regrouped. Pushed on the attack for Noah to get his goal. Marske was back in the game at 3-2 but then an unlucky goal sealing the result in Trimdons favour.

Marske Athletic never gave up against this team and played the game well.

Match Report ✍️

Marske Athletic FC U9s finally got their season started as we welcomed Billingham Town U9s to Bydales.

Marske Athletic FC U9s started strong with a quick fire double. We continued to play some great football with our training finally coming together. We took the foot off the gas after break and conceded a couple of goals. We got back on track and carried on as we started and got a positive result.

We wish Billingham Town all the best for the rest of the season.

The U10’s had an early morning away trip to the sports village to take on Riverside Madrid.
The boys started off superbly with some lovely movement and sharp passing.
Madrid came into the game as both teams made good use of possession and pitch space.

Marske Athletic 1-8 Middleton

The Girls were on the road today as we travelled to face Middleton.

Middleton started the game strong and took the lead within the opening couple of minutes, this seemed to kick us into gear and we started to battle and fight a bit more for the ball.

With the wind behind us a GK from Jess found its way through to Macie who took the ball from just inside the opposition half using her pace to finish past the home keep to draw us level.

We continued to create chances throughout the half however despite our best efforts it was the home side who went in 5-1 up at half time.

Half time was a chance to remind the girls the game wasn’t a 5-1 game and we were more than capable of continuing to match a strong Middleton side and battled well against the wind forcing the home keeper into a few important saves throughout the 2nd half.

Middleton further extended their winning margin in the 2nd half and won the match 8-1.

Despite the result, our girls can be proud of the efforts they put in, the work rate & effort put in by all 16 girls was great.

The Under 9 Blues got their season off to a start. Not a competitive game but a friendly instead against a newly formed Thornaby Reds. Marske got off to a fast start and took an early lead, but they were soon pegged back by Thornaby fast counter attacking football backed up with great finishing.

The second half saw a much stable game with both teams playing some good attacking football, where both teams goalkeepers pulled of a string off saves. Thornaby edge the game in the end but a great start for Marske with another game under their belts.

Marske Athletic U16's 13-1 Newton Aycliffe Juniors U16'S

Marske Athletic U16's hosted Newton Aycliffe Juniors in our first game since being promoted Division 2. The boys were at it from minute 1 and controlled the game for long periods. We played some fantastic football, with flowing moves and well worked goals. Every one of the boys were excellent today and made important contributions. Well done!

The u10 boys kicked off their season away at a drenched Newton Aycliffe.

They started well and on the front foot creating chances only to be denied by a goalkeeper on top form and a defence that were fighting for every ball.

We were caught out from time to time with our high press however our GK was in fine form mopping up to recycle the ball.

The second half some of the passing, movement, finishing and voices were truly outstanding and the result ended in a positive one for our boys!

Every single player was a player of the match so that’s a big well done to Joseph M, Oscar H, Oscar M, Noah, Joseph A, Tommy, Isaac, Zach, Luca, George 🏆

Good luck to Newton Aycliffe for rest of the season, they are a great team.
