Beautiful pool reflection 😍 - definitely feeling ready to dive in! 💦
Here’s one of our super swimmers showing us how to float in the pool:
- head back, ears in the water
- relax and breathe slowly
- gently move you arms and legs if you need
- as everyone floats differently
Thank you and well done to Aimee! 👏

Essential reading regarding cold water shock and our open waters...
Cold water shock can affect anyone - even strong swimmers, even on hot days.
• Warm weather doesn't mean warm water - open water stays dangerously cold.
• Cold water shock causes an involuntary gasp and loss of breathing control within seconds - even for strong swimmers.
• Even confident swimmers can quickly lose strength, control, and coordination. Panic makes it worse.
It doesn't take long for things to go wrong in open water - even for strong swimmers.

FLOAT TO LIVE
Learning how to float in the water could save your life. Practice with family and friends - it's an essential life skill for everyone at any age.
Everyone floats differently so FIND YOUR FLOAT!
You can view more resources at RNLI and if you're a non-swimmer, nervous swimmer or just someone that would like to brush up on your swim skills, I highly recommend getting some swimming lessons.
During the summer term at our swim school (now!) we focus on water safety - ALL our swimmers will be practicing how to float on their backs amongst many other water safety skills.
