Kate Tarrant Eventing is the home of Kate Tarrant, a professional rider who is based at Littleton Manor Equestrian in Reigate, Surrey. Kate competed Internationally Eventing and also at national level Dressage and Show Jumping. The Kate Tarrant Eventing yard offers fantastic facilities at Littleton Manor Equestrian alongside acccess to world class trainers. Livery is offered in different packages

ranginf from full, part, competitionj, sales, rehab and schooling. There is normally a range of selected sales horses available who are produced carefully and slowly to be ready for their new home. Kate takes a great deal of pride in matching horses and new owners together and can also act as an agent to help find your dream horse if it is not on the yard.

This week we headed off to the super special with Sam for the 5yo championships šŸ¤©

What a brilliant experience it is for these young horses and itā€™s been a long time since Iā€™ve had one that has felt ready at this stage to go to this, beautiful courses plenty of terrain and so much atmosphere. He only did his first event four months ago and this was his sixth ever event and heā€™s taken to it so professionally šŸ™Œ

The dressage was green at times but pleasant, one pesky pole rolled SJ and then a super XC with one run out coming out of the water to a skinny triple bar šŸ¤Ŗ once he had a moment to assess he came back through super straight šŸ™
A massive learning curve and he finished full of beans and still jumping brilliantly. He tried his absolute hardest all the way through which is the thing I just love about him. Now time for a holiday, which makes me sad as I enjoy riding him so much šŸ„° but I canā€™t wait to see what he comes out feeling like next year and where it takes us.

She is definitely telling me that the career change was a good choice, she feels so happy and settled and is improving every time out. Scope for so much more to come, someone please come and snap her up as she is costing me a fortune in photos, she wonā€™t take a bad one!

Back in the ring today and both Penny and Sam looking and feeling great šŸ˜

Juggling horses and summer holidays hasnā€™t been easy šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« and I havenā€™t ridden for over a week so a big thankyou to and the rest of the team for having them ready to go. Schools going back feels bittersweet but I was keen to knock some rust off and get back to it!
Sam was having some last prep before he goes off on his big adventure to Cornbury next week šŸ’Ŗ and Penny hasnā€™t been in the ring since the last Hickstead so we knocked some rust off and will go again next week!

Rare Lease Opportunity

I am open to exploring a lease option for Guinness but only for him to be kept on livery here with myself at Littleton Manor Equestrian in Reigate.

He is a 17h 11yo ISH gelding who has previously evented but happier and now focused on just dressage. In the last year he has quickly progressed to medium with many wins along the way. He has also qualified and competed at regionals and area festivals. He is super uphill with three good paces and is well educated to the level he is competing at with plenty of scope for more. He has an engine and is sensitive so would suit someone quiet and capable. Heā€™s a lovely horse to do and have around and is a real trier. A great opportunity for the right person looking for a horse to learn and progress on with lots of ability.

Only considering this as I donā€™t have time to give him the consistency he deserves to train and compete further up the levels.
We have fantastic facilities, loads of support on offer and a wonderful community of supportive clients, trainers and staff.

Some serious miles trucked for a very worthwhile run with Basil today šŸ™Œ

Heading to Yorkshire for a run wasnā€™t on my August bingo card but Iā€™m so glad we did. He was meant to run last week but going XC in the middle of the day on the scorching day plus the risk of two trips round the M25 didnā€™t feel like the right thing to do so we rerouted and Iā€™m really glad we did.
A new venue for us for the first time in a while was fun and the XC was strong enough and really educational. We had a rusty/green moment at the first water and then jumped through but I dropped my stick šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø, not ideal at fence 5 and left me feeling quite naked šŸ˜‚. It probably did me a favour in a funny way, I had to really switch on and make things happen and he got better and better as he went round. To the point that the roles then switched and he helped me on the way home when I realised the chest infection that I thought was nearly done made me realise I didnā€™t have a lot left in the tank šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«, so many good things to take away even if not quite to plan!

He hasnā€™t run a lot in the last year for various reasons and I really hope we can string a few good runs together to finish off the season as the good bits feel so good now šŸ¤©

Another super double clear at yesterday. As ever working their absolute magic on the ground and giving us a great track with so many different questions to add to his education. Just the best boy with his ears pricked and taking it all in.

Thankyou for keeping him happy in the heat, another long hot day but think we will miss this summer when itā€™s gone!

Hickstead is always a good if slightly manic day out, but absolutely worth it! Juggling rings, classes, coaching, riding, kids, drop offs, pickups and then to top it off a power cut which left us locked out the gates when we got home šŸ¤Ŗ. It was a serious team effort today and thankyou so much to everyone that helped make it happen.

Penny and Sam jumped well, Sam getting his first Hickstead experience and even for a brief moment reminded me he is just 5! And a massive well done to .showjumping jumping Tintin round a decent 1.25, this little horse may be small but he is mighty and they make a super team.
The horses all jumped well, itā€™s a shame they didnā€™t get more than one day to jump this week as they will have learnt lots from today and itā€™s always nice to go again and be better!

In a week that has so much sadness Iā€™m infinitely grateful for days like these, Sophie and Kerry have constantly been in my thoughts. I want to try and write something more erudite that puts feelings in to words but at the moment I just canā€™t find them is the honest truth. Life is unpredictable and precious and we are blessed to do what we do.
