πββοΈ Richmond Dales SC β Making a Difference Beyond the Pool! π
Weβre incredibly proud of two of our Richmond Dales Swimming Club members, Sid R and Ellie P, who have been going above and beyond to support two fantastic causes in their communities. π
π§ββοΈ Sid R β
Sid took on a fantastic adventure at Penrhyn Quarry in Wales, raising money for the charity.
Weβre delighted to say Sid has already raised an amazing Β£234 β a brilliant achievement and a fantastic contribution to such an important cause. π
π΄ββοΈ Ellie P β Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Not to be outdone, Ellie has taken on an incredible 46-mile bike ride in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. π²π
Thatβs a seriously impressive effort for a fantastic charity that provides vital emergency care across Yorkshire.
Both Sid and Ellie have shown exactly what it means to be part of a community β using their determination, resilience and sporting spirit to give something back away from the pool as well as in it. β€οΈ
Two amazing swimmers, two fantastic challenges and two incredibly worthwhile causes.
Well done, Sid and Ellie β Richmond Dales SC is very proud of you! ππ
πββοΈ And if that wasnβt enoughβ¦ !
One of our swimmers and coaches, Thomas D is about to embark on a very different challenge. Next week, Thomas will be taking part in the Great North Run, raising money for The Great North Childrenβs Hospital β a cause that is particularly close to his heart.
The incredible team at the hospital cared for Thomas for four months following a medical emergency in 2024, and he is now giving something back by taking on this huge challenge in their honour. π
Weβre sure youβll all join us in wishing Thomas the very best of luck for his run next week. Weβll be cheering you on every step of the way, Thomas! ππββοΈπ

β€οΈπ€ OUR SWIMMERS DO INCREDIBLE THINGS β IN AND OUT OF THE POOL π€β€οΈ
Weβre incredibly proud to be supporting two members of our Richmond Dales family as they take on two very different challenges for two brilliant causes.
π΄ββοΈ ELLIE PEACOCK β 46 MILES FOR YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE π
This year marks 10 years since Yorkshire Air Ambulance came to the aid of our brilliant swimmer, Ellie Peacock.
Ellie was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bones) and, in March 2016, sustained a serious break to her left femur at school, putting her at risk of haemorrhage.
From her rural primary school, the journey by road to James Cook Hospital would have taken around 1 hour 20 minutes.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance got Ellie there in just 15 minutes. β€οΈ
Ten years later, Ellie wants to give something back.
On 29 August, sheβll cycle 46 miles through Wensleydale, representing the distance from the site of her accident to James Cook Hospital.
And, because Richmond Dales people apparently regard 46 miles on a bike as a perfectly sensible way to spend a Saturday, sheβll have some familiar faces joining the cycling tag team! π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
β€οΈ Ben Gilchrist
π€ Kylah Cowan
β€οΈ Thomas Smith
π€ Thomas Eardley
Friends and family will also be joining Ellie for sections along the way.
The ride will finish at The Crown Inn, Askrigg, where thereβll be a raffle and bake sale. Weβd love to see as many RDASC swimmers and families there as possible to welcome Ellie and the team home, grab some homemade cake and support this incredible charity.
β‘ SID ROSKILLYβ TAKING ON VELOCITY FOR ALL FOR JOE
Before that, this Tuesday, our brilliant Sid is taking on the Velocity Zip Wire to raise funds for AllforJoe , supporting a charity close to us all and the memory of our cherished Joe Fields.
Weβll be cheering Sid on as he takes on what is a seriously impressive challenge for a cause very close to our club family. β€οΈ
Two brilliant young people. Two huge challenges. Two causes that matter.
This is what being part of a club is about. Not just what happens in the pool, but people supporting one another when it really matters.
Please get behind Ellie and Sid, share their stories and support their fundraising if you can.

β€οΈπ€ Good luck Ellie and Sid. Your whole Richmond Dales family is behind you! π€β€οΈ

π A New Personal Best & Plenty to Celebrate! π
πββοΈ Huge congratulations to Will A on a fantastic performance in the MC 50m Freestyle Final! π
After setting a personal best of 28.65 in the heats, Will went even quicker in the final, smashing that time with an outstanding 28.41! π₯
He narrowly missed out on the bronze medal by just 4 Para pointsβthe equivalent of only 0.06 seconds. That's how fine the margins are at this level!
An excellent swim, a fantastic new personal best, and plenty of valuable learning to take away. We're incredibly proud of the hard work, determination, and resilience you've shown throughout the competition. Well done, Willβthe future is looking very bright! ππ
A massive thank you to Ben G for his incredible commitment throughout the week. Ben has been on poolside supporting all of our athletes in every heat and final, having arrived on Sunday and not heading home until Saturday evening. It's been a long, demanding week with our swimmers racing every single day, and his dedication, encouragement, and support have been invaluable.
Thank you to all of the Officials and staff who helped make the event happen.
Finally, a huge thank you to the rest of our amazing coaching team back home, who have kept all of our training sessions running seamlessly throughout the week. It really is a team effort, and we're incredibly grateful for everything you do to support our swimmers both at competitions and back at the club.

π NATIONAL FINALIST. CLUB PRIDE. NEXT UP... LET'S GO, WILL! π
What a fantastic performance from Alba K in yesterday's 200m Butterfly Final at the Swim England Summer Nationals! π¦π
After qualifying through the heats, Alba came back even stronger in the final, producing an even faster swim and giving absolutely everything from the first stroke to the last. πͺ Her determination, grit and willingness to battle all the way to the finish were brilliant to see, and everyone at the club is incredibly proud of her!
A special mention to our County Squad, who were watching the race live during their classroom session. πΊ The cheers and encouragement could definitely be heard all the way to Sheffield. (we're sure of it! π). It was fantastic for our younger swimmers to watch Alba competing on the national stage and to support one of their own in real time.
Now it's Will A's turn! π
