A huge THANK YOU to every single person who donated, shared, supported and cheered me on for my wing walk for Claire House Childrens Hospice
Together, weโve raised an incredible ยฃ1,045 so far.
I took on the wing walk in memory of Aubrey, but the reason I keep doing things like this is bigger than the challenge itself. I want to keep shining a light on baby loss, perinatal care and the support families need when they are facing circumstances no parent ever expects to face.
Baby loss is not rare.
In the UK, around 13 babies die every day shortly before, during or soon after birth, and at least 1 in 6 pregnancies ends in miscarriage.
Behind every statistic is a baby. A family. A future that suddenly looks completely different.
This is why places like Claire House are invaluable.
Their Perinatal Team can support families from as early as the 12-week scan, through pregnancy, birth and beyond. When a baby dies, that support doesnโt simply stop. Their teams can help families navigate those first impossible days, create precious memories, support siblings, help with practical arrangements and continue to provide bereavement support in the weeks and months afterwards.
It is difficult to explain how important it is to have people around you who understand what to do when your world stops and stands still.
Claire House Childrens Hospice reports that 83% of bereaved families experienced improvements in their mental health after receiving support.
That is what your donations help make possible.
So genuinely, thank you. ยฃ1,045 is far more than a fundraising total to me. It is care, time, support and compassion for families when they need it most.
And, of course, this one was for you, Aubrey.
Taking my love up to the sky is something I'll never forget. ๐ค๐

Thank you for helping me raise money, but also for helping me keep talking about baby loss. ๐ค
