Its been a minute since I got my hands on any clay... but when the daughter requests a clay cake topper for her birthday cake (yes I had to make that too) and with only 1 night to get it done.... we have a Princess Cadence, which means she gets to keep her too.

Not my finest work by any means, and I dont have access to all of my tools and work space so this was an all nighter project without a break, some clay and 1 tool I managed to find in a box, sat on the sofa balancing a tiny tile on the arm of the sofa.

I was very honoured to be commissioned to make their bespoke wedding cake topper.
When I say this one tested me, it really did. Ive never made a motorbike before, it took months of planning, sketching and working out proportions to get this right, then to place the lovely couple and their daughter on there too was another challenge to ensure it would fit on their cake.

All handmade from polymer clay, handpainted and displayed on a wooden board.
It was a challenge worth doing to hear that they loved it so much.

A memory they can keep forever, and this is why I do what I do.

I've been working on a wedding cake topper for the last few weeks, it arrived with my customer today and they are very happy thank goodness as it was a first for me.

Ive enjoyed working with clay again after so long

This weather is not helpful when working with clay 😄🙈🙈🙈 A nice air conditioned room with no distractions would be ideal right about now!!!
Currently I am working on a wedding cake topper that is unlike any I've done before, and it is definitely pushing me to my limits with learning along the way new skills and techniques. Fingers crossed it turns out as I well as I hope it does ☺️

So my surprise commision..... I am pleased to introduce you to Silver Star

This beautiful design concept was created by a lovely person my brothers girlfriend is friends with. I felt very honoured she asked me to bring their vision to life as a surprise.

So here is is in all his glory

Silver Star
A grey pony with a Silver mane and tail, feathered legs and a shining silver horn above emerald green eyes.
His "Cutie Mark" a solid silver star worthy of his name.
Blue and purple galaxy base with yellow stars were requested.

He is made from polymer clay and therefore will be a forever keepsake.
I am so happy to hear how much they loved him and gave me permission to show him and their original design concept.

I have absolutely loved creating him and will definitely be focusing back to my love of animals for future projects.

Something a little different at the weekend... I haven't done any cakes for a long time, mainly because of the mess they make, and the space in my kitchen, but it was 2 very special birthdays so I made these for my mum and my best friend who celebrated on the same day.
Pastel kitty cake and Yellowstone themed cake. Very out of practice but happy with how they turned out.

My babies are growing up and getting their Catio built soon (it's been delivered I just can't build it myself) which means they will soon have a lovely space to go play safely outside whenever they wish, and allow me to have some peace and quiet while I sculpt. I love them to pieces, but not having a designated space at the moment means as soon as I get the clay out they want to help, which has made it difficult to do much this last year.
Fingers crossed I can get back to doing what I love soon and they can enjoy the outdoor space while I work.

The surprise commision is complete. Hopefully will be with his new owner early next week so I can post photos!

I have missed sculpting fantasy creatures, I much prefer them to making people. I have 1 wedding cake topper commision to do this year but after this one I think I'm going to focus back to my Fantasy/Mythical items as I love doing them so much.
