Rugby Borough Vs Kenilworth

On a very wet Saturday morning, the boys put on a brilliant passing performance.

Harry put the boys 1-0 up before goals from Jack, Ollie B and Harry again for his brace.

Top goalkeeping and defending meant the boys went into half time with a decent lead.

They were put under pressure in the second half but dug in deep for the win.

Cup game - Rugby Borough Pumas Vs Vision Rockets.

The two teams met again after a windy fixture a few weeks ago.

Rockets started strong and scored after a few mistakes. Baba got us back in the game with a nice long range finish, after some good out of possession work from Harry.

The half time talk consisted of returning to basics and pressing the ball as we know we can.

Jack and James scored to put us back in the game after good work out wide from Albie and Jamie.

Ollie, Ollie and Kian defended well in one on one situations, with Jackson providing some good saves in goal.

Some mistakes that we will learn from and we push on for next weekend. The cup is on hold for another year. 🏆

The boys travelled to Warwick on a damp Saturday morning.

There was nothing damp about the performance in the first half. The boys started well, playing out from the back through Ollie B, Ol and Kian.

The attacking three were moving the ball well, with Albie working hard to force a corner. Jack took it low and hard.. which went in.

Warwick hit back with a well worked goal!

Good pressing again from Albie resulted in an indirect free kick due to a pass back. Albie rolled it to Jack who found the back of the net.

James, showing his versatility on the pitch scored a lovely goal into the top corner.

Jamie pressed well out wide and Baba showed his good footwork and work rate up front.

A change of shape due to having a full squad pushed Harry into the middle. He drove through the Warwick defence and slotted home.

Jackson made an outstanding double save after pin ball in the box.

Albie, Jack, Jamie and Ollie all had chances to add to their total but were blocked, saved or missed.

The boys at the back still tried to get us playing but Warwick hit back with a few goals. Injury time was ‘created’ meaning the pumas had to dig in, clear their lines and battle for the remaining 7 minutes.

Not the strong offensive performance but nevertheless, goals scored, a win and smiles on the lads faces.

As ‘Storm Amy’ arrived at Kilsby Lane.. the boys still performed in very difficult conditions.

With Baba being away at Old Trafford.. enjoying a rare Manchester United win, Jamie was this weeks captain and worked tirelessly up and down the wing.. battling well!

A cagey first 15 minutes with the boys trying to keep the ball on the floor. Starting with a back 3, Kian and Ollie Baines offered width but defended well when it came to their one v one’s. Ollie Bates got us playing out from the back, starting with Jackson who made some great saves thoughout.

Harry, like always, battled so well linking the defensive and attacking players together. Albie pressed well from the front causing vision to give the ball away. Kian stood strong winning the ball and clearing the ball.

Playing against the wind, an outstanding team goal.. Jackson to Ollie, Ollie to James, James to Jack.. goal!!

A long ball over the top caught the pumas out and vision levelled the game up!

Just after half time, the boys turned defence into attack with Harry scoring a lovely goal to put us back into the lead.

James showed his quality on the ball setting up a number of goals. Both Ollie’s showed their versatile aspects of their game.

A flurry of good finishes from Jack and Harry put the game to bed.

A very impressive passing performance from the boys in tough conditions.

A solid start to the season 💪🟠

Derby days are always special, but this one will live long in the memory. The boys were outstanding from start to finish. Pumas came up against some familiar faces, who were teams mates last season so knew it would be a tough test.

Once again, proudly donning our Smart Drain UK home kits, Harry whipped a ball into the box for Jack to finish first time. One of our own, from the beginning, Harry smashed one towards goal which flew in. The ‘Ollie’ double act at the back were solid and welcomed back goalkeeper Jackson for his first appearance this season who was brilliant.

Ollie Baines, calm on the ball, read the game well and enabled up to play out from the back.

Baba pressed well and was strong in the challenge against some big physical players!

James worked hard in the middle and set Jack free who found the back of the net! Ex Puma Peyton scored to reduced the deficit at half time.

Albie entered the fray and produced a dazzling display of attacking and pressing football. He scored a great goal into the ‘top bins’ from open play.. before smashing a free kick home!

Jamie; who’s been consistent throughout this season came on and battled well offensively and defensively.

With the pumas winning, enter Kian who cleared his lines effectively and set up attacks on a number of occasions.

Harry scored his second of the game, from a save from their keeper into the roof of the net.

Jack lobbed the keeper to score his hat-trick before Albie scored his third with a very smart finish 🔥🔥

The visitors struck back to make but the pumas stood strong to claim a fully deserved win.

Both teams had some very good players on show but it was the Pumas who looked sharper, faster, and hungrier in every duel.

The intensity in training carried into today’s game. Fully deserved for all the boys; new and old after a ‘summer rebuild’.
