Improving Road Safety on A426 Leicester Road - Petition
Hi everyone
I'm sure we've all seen a near-miss, an accident, speeding or poor lane discipline on the A426 Leicester Road just outside of our estate.
When the road was first designed, the area around the dual-carriageway and roundabouts would have been very different. Many of the housing estates (including ours) weren't developed and neither was Rugby Gateway. All of this combined, plus the growth of other areas of Rugby has significantly increased traffic.
Our local Councillors have been working hard to engage Warwickshire County Council Highways, asking they take action to make the road safer. However, so far, Warwickshire County Council Highways haven't taken any action.
Our local councillors want to see Highways make the following changes:
• Reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 40mph
• Review & re-paint the road markings
Cllr Alison Livesey has created a petition for residents to sign, please click the below link to show your support for changes to the A426 -

All local residents are welcome to attend. It’s an opportunity to meet our local Warwickshire Police SNT and raise any issues affecting you and our local area.
We have been asked to see if there were any witnesses to a non-stop road traffic collision from this evening.
Just before 7pm, a small black SEAT car ran into the back of red Skoda at the roundabout exiting the estate.
The black SEAT had L plates and had two young male occupants. They failed to stop and provide details.
If you have any information, please send us a private message and we can put you in touch with the owner.
