Brereton Social Dragons - U10 Girls 25/26 season

22/09/2026

Saturday saw Brereton Social Dragons U11’s travel over to Wolverhampton to face TT Elite.
Prior to ko Brereton were rocked by the news that our consistent defender Eden wouldn’t be able to play. This forced the team into a reshuffle with Rosie deputising and making her first start in defence, a new position for her with the Dragons.
The game kicked off and The Dragons were pressing TT hard up the pitch with an early opportunity falling to Scarlett that just went wide.
TT Elite made a break after 5 mins and what was a long through ball, somehow ended up in the Brereton goal!!
Brereton continued to work really hard as a team and after strikes from Scarlett, Ava and Dolly, Brereton thought they were in control. This was to be disrupted when TT had other ideas and forced a second.
The next 5 mins seen Brereton get put under pressure at the back with the TT Elite substitutes making an impact. Rosie and Esmae in goal, did really well to stop TT getting back level. Arabella, Fran, Ava & Dolly worked tirelessly in midfield, needing to do the less glamorous stuff in order to help keep Brereton infront. Ivy was introduced at the back and made some fine tackles and played some nice passes, stopping the TT attacks.
Off the bench, Kayla was to make an instant impact with her tireless battling and was there to play a great through ball to Scarlett who didn’t make any mistake. Brereton had their buffer again.
After half time The Dragons came out on the front foot and Ava was able to slot home after a great jinking run and pass from Dolly. Brereton were playing some really good slick football on a less than decent surface.
Whilst on the front foot, Brereton got caught by an interception and TT Elite were able to break and made no mistake by putting the ball past Esmae. It was a nervous last 15 mins for Brereton as TT Elite were trying their best to push forward with the game opening up and being end to end but the Dragons midfield and defence were solid and held firm.
With 5 mins to go, Dolly intercepted a pass and was able to strike home and put the game to bed.
What was a very physical game, but played in the right manner, turned out to be positive for both sides with really good football on display.
Picking POTM was really hard as there were so many good performances. Eventually it was given to Ivy for her confidence and calmness on the ball and also in the tackle 👏👏
We would like to dedicate this performance to our Eden and her family. This one was for you❤️🤍❤️🤍

Saturday morning saw Stafford Rangers come to play Brereton Social Dragons U11’s Girls.
Before the game we knew we were up against good opposition and would have to work extra hard to get something from the game. With a series of good training sessions and encouraging performances leading into this game, The Dragons went onto the pitch in confident mood.
The game started with both teams trying to get a breakthrough in the early stages with the dragons coming close on a few occasions. Brereton started having their fair share of possession and the deadlock was finally broken after Dolly had taken a quick kick-in to Ava who having found space, smacked in a long range goal of the season contender right into the top corner from long range.
Esmae continued to have safe hands in the Brereton goal, with a series of saves in quick succession. Rosie, Arabella, Fran, Kayla, Dolly & Ava dominated the midfield during the first half making things really difficult for Town.
Going into the second half, Brereton started on the front foot but still couldn’t force a second. Stafford had defended brilliantly up to this point.
Half way through the second half, Scarlett made a run into the box and was subsequently taken down by the defender, the ref blew and pointed to the spot. Scarlett made no mistake from the penalty spot with a well taken strike into the bottom right corner.
With Stafford starting to tire, not having any subs, Brereton added another after Ava assisted Scarlett for her second of the game. Shortly after, Scarlett put the ball across the box for Rosie to pounce with a tap in at the near post.
Brereton continued to press Stafford Town, although they did have a few opportunities with Kayla pulling off a series of double saves from close range after going in goal for Esmae. Ivy and Eden held firm at the back, limiting Stafford to half chances.
Dolly was causing no end of problems for Town down the left wing and finished the game off with a nice pass to Esmae, only for her to finish past the keeper, 5 mins after coming out of goal.
Stafford Town battled hard all game and did everything they could to make things hard for The Dragons.
Now onto next weeks away game v’s TT Elite…
Well done to Arabella for POTM 🏆 💪

Brereton Social Dragons U11’s started the 2026/27 season off with an away trip to to Walsall Wood.

Looking forward to the 1st game of the season, the dragons were in buoyant mood before kick off.
Brereton started the stronger of the 2 teams dominating possession from the start but Walsall Wood were well drilled and worked hard to prevent The Dragons from taking the lead. Scarlett, Rosie & Dolly all came close in the first 15 mins. Arabella also had a long range effort go narrowly over the bar.
Despite the constant attacks, Walsall Wood managed to get at the Brereton defence on the odd occasion but were prevented from taking the lead by great saves from Esmae and astute defensive work by Eden.
On 20 mins the deadlock was broken after a fine assist by Rosie leading onto Scarlett to tuck the ball away in the far corner of the Walsall Wood goal. Brereton looked strong with Kayla, Fran & Ivy entering the field giving Arabella, Rosie and Scarlett a rest along with a change of formation. Brereton continued to press and create chances but no further goals before half time.
After half time Walsall Wood came out strong and continued to battle. The Dragons soaked up the pressure well and were able to press the Walsall Wood defence with Dolly & Ava making some fine runs. The football being played was really good with both sides trying to play proper football. Kayla worked tirelessly playing in a number of positions and did her best to try and stop the Walsall Wood attacks.
From a Brereton corner Fran was there to pounce with a very well deserved goal, with a neat finish into the left hand corner of the net. The Brereton fans went wild!! Fran had worked really hard all game and this was a nice reward.
Brereton dominated possession in the latter half of the second half with Dolly, Arabella & Scarlett coming back on with fresh legs. Eden was unfortunately forced off the pitch after a last ditch tackle where she got caught on the ankle, putting an end to what was a solid game for her and was replaced by Ava in defence.
Esmae continued to provide safe hands between the sticks, giving the Brereton defence assurance that any mistakes would be dealt with.
After the final whistle, The Dragons went home very happy indeed. A great start to the season, and a game that was played in great spirit by both teams.
Thanks to all coaches, parents and spectators for your continued support.
