Leo spent the summer on the Saints Lions Development Programme — loved every minute of it, put in the hard work, and it’s paid off big time! He got the amazing news on Friday that he’s been selected for the Saints Excel Programme — he’s absolutely chuffed! 😄💙

This is such a brilliant achievement and fully deserved — a massive reward for all the effort, attitude and commitment Leo’s shown.

We travelled to Ashton Bears for this midweek clash, in what turned out to be a tight, stop-start contest that never really found its flow.

The game was frequently disrupted, so neither side could settle into their usual rhythm or build consistent momentum. We worked hard to get back on level terms at 12-12 late in the match, but Ashton edged ahead with a penalty conversion to take the win 14-12.

It wasn’t the performance we were aiming for, and we’re already looking forward to putting things right in our next fixture.
