Some prep ready for undoubtedly the biggest weekend of our race season. Anglesey round 5 and 6!

Anglesey double header is the weekend were you need no mechanical issues and consistency, so we prep as best as we can!

Full geometry check and vehicle check over carried out by us and Darren Thompson at DT Motorsport , some adjustments made to the suspension and geometry of the car and some fresh rubber to make sure Suzie is in tip top condition!

We are going to be as ready as we can be!

Race report Blyton park inner round 4! 🏎️ 🏆

This is a circuit that both cal and shay both enjoy, it’s well suited with it being quite a tight and twisty track so we were hoping for some good results!

Cal had a relatively uneventful day settling into 3rd place pretty quickly and knocking off 5 seconds off last years lap!

Shay knuckled down and tried to catch Phil cutler but ended up struggling to keep up with the weight and power difference!

His day was cut short on run 5 when his intercooler decided to split in half ended his day!

Cal tried everything to try and catch Andy Hughes as he was only 0.05 seconds off his best time but with the ambient air temp increasing as the day got on, the finish line just got further and further away!

🏎️ Race report Cadwell park round 3 of the javelin sprint series!

We came into this weekend with not very high hopes of trophies as it’s our least favourite track!

All round a tough weekend, drama before we even left for the weekend as cal had lost the keys to the motorhome and anyone with a motorhome knows it’s a nightmare because it’s not only the key to start the van, it’s all the keys for habitation at the back, but cal knowing how to pop a lock helped us get through the weekend 😂😂

Managing to get on the road and up to Cadwell in good time, arriving a few competitor and good friend Andy Hughes before we even parked up mentioned he had a blow out and luckily we had a spare tyre in the trailer! Granted he is cals competitor but he was his friend first and we as a team will always help anyone out if we can!

All set up on the Friday night and then suddenly Cal suddenly became very ill, shaking but with a high temp, feeling sick and a headache it wasn’t looking positive for race day, so early to bed, plenty of water and paracetamol and we would see what happened the following day!

Cal started to feel a bit better in the morning so plenty of paracetamol and energy gels we decided we would set a time for the championship and see how he got on. Granted he just kept on digging deep and providing the goods! Lap times kept getting quicker! Perking up slightly after every lap and then suddenly he just had nothing left to give for the 5th run. He was fast asleep but still managed to secure a solid 3rd place!

Cal managed to ascertain a small amount of the damage to aero on the front, clearly finding the limits of the brackets used to secure the aero on the car!

Shay, was Ermm clinical and boring 😂 just a normal weekend for him! No illness, no drama, just same old slim. Smashing them lap times and eating them kerbs as per usual! Having an engine management light coming on around dinner was the only issue he had, quick scan shown a lambda sensor fault. Funny cos he doesn’t have one so no worries there 😂 a quick clear and he was back out chopping down that time again!

Cal managed a 1.25.76 and shay coming back with a 1.33.43.
Cal managed to knock off 5 seconds off last years times and shay managed to knock off nearly 3 seconds! Maybe we’re getting used to the driving quick lark 😂

Race report Croft round 2!

What a round it was! This weekend was going to be development and understanding of the car, not having enough time to carry out a test day after finishing a bit of work on the car it was going to be learning how the car handled under serious grippy conditions and boy did Suzie do well!

With a new front splitter and some chassis upgrades Suzie handled very very well after dialling it all in in the morning! After saving 2.5 seconds off my first lap in the morning we managed a 1.25.42. A quick time around Croft and chasing Adrian all day reeling him in however we just couldn’t get that last 0.5 seconds in the heat.

It was around 29 degrees and the car just didn’t have that bite they normally have in colder conditions. However a non problematic weekend is what we like and to come back with 2 trophies for 3rd in class and 3rd overall which is a fantastic result with the lack of seat time we’ve had.

Now it’s a case of stop buying shiny stuff for the car and concentrate on learning the car more and more and having the confidence in the car to drive it fast in bends and not pressing the slow pedal.

But we move on to the next round which is most likely going to be Cadwell where we will be back to having a full team out!

So we’re all setup and ready to go for Croft circuit round 2!

We’ve got no shay today as it’s his son’s birthday so just Cal and Will!

The sun is shining so hopefully we will have a good day!
