Race report Croft round 2!

What a round it was! This weekend was going to be development and understanding of the car, not having enough time to carry out a test day after finishing a bit of work on the car it was going to be learning how the car handled under serious grippy conditions and boy did Suzie do well!

With a new front splitter and some chassis upgrades Suzie handled very very well after dialling it all in in the morning! After saving 2.5 seconds off my first lap in the morning we managed a 1.25.42. A quick time around Croft and chasing Adrian all day reeling him in however we just couldn’t get that last 0.5 seconds in the heat.

It was around 29 degrees and the car just didn’t have that bite they normally have in colder conditions. However a non problematic weekend is what we like and to come back with 2 trophies for 3rd in class and 3rd overall which is a fantastic result with the lack of seat time we’ve had.

Now it’s a case of stop buying shiny stuff for the car and concentrate on learning the car more and more and having the confidence in the car to drive it fast in bends and not pressing the slow pedal.

But we move on to the next round which is most likely going to be Cadwell where we will be back to having a full team out!

So we’re all setup and ready to go for Croft circuit round 2!

We’ve got no shay today as it’s his son’s birthday so just Cal and Will!

The sun is shining so hopefully we will have a good day!

We need to say a massive thank you to one of our sponsors Merseyside recoveries ltd in helping us get to our events and testing by giving us full use of one of their recovery vehicles while ours is having some repairs!

I can count on one hand how many people would do something like this for us and there help and generosity is greatly appreciated.

Cal uses them for all work transport and their quality of work is amazing. For any transport needs these guys are the dogs and are our number 1 every time!

So along side our main championship javelin sprint series, there is also an internal one called the Japanese sprint championship.

Only open to Japanese cars/engine and is very tight in terms of times!

Cal managed 1.04.63, 1.6 seconds off his mate Andy.
Shay managing a 1.12.11, exactly 0.2 seconds off his rival Phil cutler!

Both drivers know they could have managed to equal the first place times with 1 or 2 more good runs but with the weather being fantastic in Britain, play stopped at dinner time for us!

Blyton was a great round for us for the championship and hopefully we can continue to get fantastic results for us as a team, individual drivers and for our fantastic sponsors who continue to support us!

We move onto developing the cars over the next few weeks ready for the next round at Croft which hopefully if the weather is good should be a great round for us!

We are ready for this weekend! Cars are loaded, bags are packed and we will be leaving soon for Blyton park round 1 were we can hopefully come back with some good results and some trophies!

Will is coming with us aswell in his Clio which will be good to see him back out. We’ve made changes, adapted and modified and no we are ready!
