Roosters Masters – Wrap‑Up
A brilliant afternoon of Masters rugby at Hallsworth Road today. Three tough games, plenty of graft, and the usual Roosters spirit from first whistle to last. Every lad put in a shift, and the atmosphere around the ground was spot on.
🔶 Standout Shout‑Outs
• Stewart Williams – steered the ship with his experience. Calm head, smart distribution, and kept the boys organised in both fixtures.
• Tommy G – electric on the edge. Strong carries, great defensive reads, and crossed the line for a cracking try after taking a beautiful long ball from Wildy. Perfect timing, perfect finish, and a proper highlight of the day.
• Adam Hulse – outstanding on the wing. Made some excellent runs, carried hard, worked tirelessly, and gave us real punch out wide. Our very own version of Liam Marshall — fast, direct, and always asking questions of the defence.
• Danny Williams – massive moment seeing him back on the field. Straight into the graft, straight into the collisions, and looked like he’d never been away.
• 🔥 Andy Sweeting – Doing a Header Like He Thought He Was Jürgen Klinsmann
Sweeto decided rugby wasn’t enough today and threw in a full‑on header, channelling his inner Klinsmann!
• Billy B – Has settled in well at ho**er and kept things tidy around the ruck. Good service and did exactly what the team needed from him.
• Mike Mc – back on English soil after a weekend over in Ireland representing the Northern Vikings. Hard runs, commitment, and a massive part of making sure the whole day ran smoothly. On the field and off it, he helped make sure everyone had a belter of a day.
And finally a huge shout to all the lads — every single player dug in, worked hard, and represented the club exactly how Masters rugby should be played: competitive, respectful, and full of laughs.
❤️ Thanks to Crosfields & Westhoughton
Both visiting teams brought great spirit, great rugby, and helped make the day. Quality opposition and quality people.
Another cracking Masters day at the Roosters. Onwards to the next one.... the National Festival at Blackpool 🎢

Roosters Masters are back at Hallsworth Road this weekend, hosting Crosfields Rugby and Westhoughton Lions masters sides.
Expect big hits, bigger laughs, and running styles that make chiropractors wince.
From 12pm you’ll see:
• Men stretching like they’re defusing a bomb
• Warm-ups that last longer than the actual game
• Tactical chats that mostly involve deciding who’s least tired
• And the finest collection of over‑35 athletes still claiming they’re “in their prime”
Get yourself down — it’s free entertainment and better than anything on telly.

This Saturday, Salford City Roosters send our best wishes to Coach Mike McClafferty , who travels to Ireland to pull on the shirt for the Northern Vikings in the Masters Origin game.
Mike gives his all for his Under 8s and our club, and now he gets his moment in a truly historic fixture.
It’s not just a game — it’s a full day celebrating rugby in Ireland.
Origin kicks off at 12pm, setting the tone for an afternoon that rolls straight into the Women’s All‑Ireland Grand Final, followed by the Men’s All‑Ireland Grand Final.
Three huge matches, one massive stage, and one of our own taking part.
Go enjoy every minute, Coach — your Roosters family is right behind you.

Back to the grind tomorrow night… or as we like to call it: midweek therapy with slightly creaky joints.
If you’ve been thinking about giving Masters a go, swing down and have a run — we promise at least one moment where you feel 25 again.
And if you haven’t been down in a while, dust off the boots, stretch whatever needs stretching, and get yourself back in the mix. We miss your questionable chat.
We’ve got a full stack of fixtures coming up, plus five Roosters masterd representing us at the NW Festival this Saturday — proof that miracles do happen.
If you’re 35+ and fancy pulling on the Roosters kit… you’re genuinely missing out. It’s cheaper than therapy, more fun than the gym, and the only place where running in a straight line is still considered heroic. 🐓💙
