Cotehele had a fantastic weekend of racing at the Men’s Cornish Pilot Gig Association - CPGA County Champs! Very tricky conditions and tough competition meant for exciting racing.
Our MA rowed fantastically and unfortunately, a pile up on the first buoy in round 2 scuppered their chances of progressing to the quarters. Our MB (for which this was their first major event rowing in the seniors- for the whole crew) were utterly fantastic and made it through to the quarter finals 😍
Huge thank you to our amazing coxes Liv and Liz, to those who transported kit and all the club supporters. Thanks to Newquay Rowing Club-Cornwall for hosting another amazingly well run event and all the clubs who loaned boats.
Thanks also to G&B Gig Photography and the GigRower.co.uk for the wonderful coverage too- we particularly enjoyed the GPS stats 😁

Day two of the Newquay Ladies County Championships saw both ladies A and B compete in the quarter finals.

Ladies B rowed against stiff competition and came 6th in their heat.

Ladies A fought hard in the quarters and came in 2nd, going through to the semi finals. Some close racing for the semi finals saw our ladies A finish 5th in their heat.

Well done everyone; thank you to our wonderful coxes and to Newquay Gig Club for hosting another amazing county championships.

Newquay Ladies Championships Round 2 saw some fantastic racing from our crews; LB came second in their heat and progress to the quarter finals tomorrow 💪

Ladies C and D (our amazing u25 crew) raced hard against some superb competition and came 5th and 4th in their heats.

Results from Newquay Ladies Championships after round one:

Cotehele B came 4th in their heat; ladies C came 5th; ladies D came 4th. All three will race again in round 2 this afternoon GOOD LUCK!

Cotehele ladies A came second in their heat and are through to the quarter finals tomorrow.
