Scunthorpe Ladies vs Epworth Ladies 🏑 ❤️💙

Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day as we went down 9–0 to Epworth.

It’s always a tough game against Epworth, but it was made even tougher with us being a player down. Despite that, the ladies worked hard, did the best they could and we used the game as an opportunity to keep learning and developing. Having an extra player on the pitch to mark makes a massive difference, but we kept going right until the final whistle! 💪🏼

It’s always great playing against Epworth, with friendly games and a really good atmosphere between both teams. 🤝🏼

We also got some great practice in on our short corners, with Lucy pushing out to Sasha before getting the ball back to Lucy on the post — definitely something we’ll keep working on! 👏🏼

🏑 Scunthorpe Ladies 3–0 Brigg 4s ❤️💙

Back on the pitch after the summer break, the first half was all about getting back into the swing of things. We knew how we wanted to score — we just needed to execute.

A half-time team talk saw us come out firing, with Sadie opening the scoring just 2 minutes into the second half with a cracking finish from a rebound, finding the top right corner despite being on the floor! 🔥

16 minutes in, a great move from Sasha → Lucy → Katie saw Katie slot home after a deflection off the Brigg stick. ⚡️

The final goal came after a fantastic team move from the back to the front. Katie followed up her own shot and smashed the rebound into the bottom corner to make it 3–0! ❤️💙

I’m Donna, the Chair of a new hockey team - Scunthorpe Ladies Hockey Club… and also the Goalkeeper.

I’m really looking forward to getting our new club up and running, and can’t wait to welcome returning players, new faces, supporters, and anyone who’s ever fancied giving hockey a go 🏑

We're a small, friendly club with a fresh new look, and we're always on the lookout for new players to join our hockey family! 💙

Our ladies' team will be playing in the Yorkshire & North East – Lindsey Women's Division 1 for the 2026/27 season, with all home games played at Brumby Hall Sports Ground, Scunthorpe on a dedicated sand-based hockey pitch.

Whether you've not picked up a hockey stick in years, you've recently moved to the area, or you're completely new to the game, we'd love to hear from you!
