Useful info fo anyone coming to Wasdale

WASDALE ROADWORKS
The resurfacing of the road to Wasdale Head was due to be completed on June 5th but it is still looking like there is quite a bit of work still to do.

Although there’s nothing showing on the Cumberland Council website or have they communicated anything with residents and business owners, there’s still a lot of machinery around and parts of the road are still unfinished.

When we know more we'll update again but at present, you may not be able to get through still as it looks like work is still happening.

For anyone heading up Wasdale late or early

WASDALE OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURE
A reminder to all those visiting Wasdale, going to Wasdale Head, setting off walking early in the morning or later in the evening (namely 3 Peaks walkers), the road will be closed to Wasdale Head from 10pm until 6am daily until June 5th for highway repair and maintenance work. Access for pedestrians and emergency services will be kept at all times.

Any closure of this road is an inconvenience for visitors, residents and businesses alike and especially during a half term and at this time of the year!

The closure does not affect the Wasdale Explorer bus as this operates outside of the closure times.

Questions worth asking. And answering honestly!

Wild places like Wasdale are so important. Let’s work together to protect them.

There are lots of little ways in which you can help protect the beautiful Wasdale Valley from taking your litter home or disposing of it in a designated bin to reporting fly camping or anti-social behaviour.
