Match Report
Sunday 4th October 2026
Ecclesall Rangers Reds vs. Middlewood Rovers Black

We travelled to the other side of town today to the picturesque Whirlow Playing Fields and the weather was kind to us.

⚽️ Well played today, boys! What a great battle between two fairly evenly matched teams, our boys fought hard to win every ball but our opponents also fought hard.

🔥 Highlight(s) of the match: Two fantastic goals from Keyross, one absolute rocket, one to chip their keeper, and both well placed. He maybe should have scored a few more goals too but their keeper was a match for those attacks. 👏

🏆 Man of the Match: Huge shoutout to Jenson, always reading the game well and getting back to defend when needed. Fantastic work today, well earned!

👉 Proud of the whole squad for never giving up and trying hard, again and again. Some we win, some we lose, but we always have fun and keep developing our team and skills. On to the next one! 💪🏽👊🏽

Huge congratulations to Leo, our well-deserved Trainer of the Week! 🤩⚽️

Leo showed up with unmatched energy, setting the tone for the entire squad from the very first kick of the session.
Leo focused intensely on sharpening technical skills, proving that hard work during drills translates directly into matchday success.

Great players aren't born on matchdays; they are built through the sweat, focus, and dedication shown at training. Leo proved exactly what it takes to level up this week.

Keep setting the bar high, Leo! The whole team is proud of your effort. Let’s keep this momentum moving into the weekend when you will be Team Captain! 🏆💪

Middlewood Rovers Black U9 vs. Cawthorne

We were visited by Cawthorne today for the 4th game of the season.

⚽️ Well, what can we say?! The boys were on fire and dominated right from the get-go! 🔥
From incredible passing and teamwork to creating brilliant opportunities and finishing them in style, all that hard work at training is paying off.
Every single player stepped up today—from the goalkeeper straight through to the strikers. 🧤⚽️
We were first to every ball, completely dictating the play and never letting the opposition find their rhythm.

🔥 Highlight of the match: our first choice keeper was unavailable today and Bobby S bravely stepped in. An amazing penalty save from him too, what a star! 👏

🏆 Man of the Match: Congratulations to Archie, as ever, he gave it everything today, from defence to attack, he ran rings around the opposition, and so great for him to get a goal!

👉 Proud of the whole squad: It just goes to show that on our day, this team is an absolute force to be reckoned with!
Incredible performance, boys. On to the next one! 💪🏽💙🖤

Match Report
Sunday 20th September 2026
Langold Juniors A.F.C. U9 Reds vs. Middlewood Rovers Black

We travelled to Langold today to face what we suspected would be strong opposition, playing a team that is largely unchanged from the previous season is often a difficult task.

⚽️ Good game today, boys! Even though the early morning wake-up call didn’t do our performance any favours, we still put together some decent passing and movement out there. It just wasn’t our day today!

🔥 Highlight of the match: What an unbelievable goal from Oliver! Taking the ball all the way from our own half and scoring like a pro—pure class keeping his composure while under pressure from 3 or 4 of their players! 👏

🏆 Man of the Match: Massive shoutout to Leo. Absolute rock at the back as always, fully committing himself to those individual battles and winning the ball first, every single time. Brilliant job, pal!

👉 Proud of the whole squad for taking that result on the chin and never giving up. We win some, we lose some, but we always have fun and keep learning. On to the next one! 💪🏽👊🏽

Match Report
Sunday 13th September 2026
Middlewood Rovers Black vs. Tinsley Juniors FC U9’s

We were visited by Tinsley Juniors FC today, for the first home league match of the season. The team played much better than last week! We played some really nice football and put together some brilliant passes. It was great to watch them move the ball around the pitch and work it well between themselves. They’re starting to play some decent football now, and it’s only the second game of the season.

Congratulations to our man of the match, which today goes to Harry, he’s had an excellent week, earning Trainer of the week and starting the match as Captain. He showed his strength on the ball, whilst playing fairly and clean, some great passes from the back to open up the game and help to create our chances.

Special mention to Jenson for taking a ball home today.

An entertaining, fast paced match and a great performance from the boys, well done to you all.

Congratulations to Harry for achieving our Trainer Of The Week!

He really showed that he’s developing well, good in the passing and tackling drills, strong at the back in the mini match and is reading the game well, challenging the opposition when needed and looking to get the ball safe.

Keep up the hard work Harry!
