This week in Pilates we’re focusing on the muscles that support, stabilise and protect the back.

Through core connection, upper and lower body strength and mindful movement, we’ll be building support from the inside out. The goal isn’t just a stronger back, it’s better balance, posture and confidence in everyday movement.

Gentle enough to meet you where you are, effective enough to help you move and feel better.

This week we’re exploring the power of push and pull.

These movement patterns show up everywhere, from opening doors and carrying shopping to getting up from the floor and enjoying your favourite activities. In Pilates, they help us build balanced strength throughout the body while improving control, coordination and core connection.

Expect a mix of upper and lower body work, with exercises designed to challenge how your muscles work together to create smooth, efficient movement.

Strong pushing. Strong pulling. Stronger movement.

You don’t need to wait until pain becomes unbearable to pay attention to it.

Often the body gives us smaller signs first. Stiffness that keeps returning. A shoulder that doesn’t move quite right. A back that feels tight every morning.

Listening early and understanding what your body needs can help prevent smaller issues becoming bigger ones.

Scar recovery after a C-section is about more than appearance.

Tightness, pulling, numbness or feeling disconnected through the tummy can all influence how your body moves and feels long after birth.

Helping the tissues move well again can support comfort, core recovery and confidence in movement.

One of the most important parts of physiotherapy is understanding you as a person, not just treating a symptom.

Your lifestyle, stress levels, sleep, movement habits and goals all play a role in recovery.

At Flex, we keep the individual at the centre of every appointment.

This week the studio is taking a little pause as we give the Flex team a very well deserved break.

While the studio doors are closed, we’d still encourage you to keep your body moving gently using all the skills and awareness you’ve built in class. A little mobility, stretching, breathwork or core connection can go a long way.

Don’t forget you can also head to the on-demand section of TeamUp and enjoy one of our pre-recorded sessions from home whenever it suits you.

We’ll be back next week refreshed, recharged and ready to welcome you back to the mat.

Another lovely 5-star review from one of our clients.
After initially seeing Beki for treatment and rehabilitation following a knee injury, they later returned for a sports massage with Emily, and we’re so pleased to hear they had a great experience with both services.

We’re proud to offer a team approach to help clients recover, move better, and feel their best, whether that’s through physiotherapy, rehabilitation, or sports massage treatment.

Thank you for the kind words and continued support.

Pelvic floor symptoms are common, but many women still feel uncomfortable talking about them.

Leaking when you sneeze, heaviness during exercise or feeling disconnected from your core after pregnancy are things we hear about often in clinic.

You are not alone, and support is available.

Movement doesn’t have to leave you exhausted to be effective.

Sometimes the most powerful changes come from slowing down, breathing well and learning how to move with better awareness and control.

Your body often responds best when movement feels supportive, not punishing.

This week in Pilates we’re focusing on posture, not chasing “perfect posture,” but building a body that feels strong and supported in lots of different positions.

Good posture is less about sitting bolt upright and more about having the mobility, strength and awareness to move well throughout the day.

Expect plenty of core connection, upper body strength and mindful movement to help you feel more supported from head to toe.
