Hello lovely people, it's only less than 24 hours to vote.

I really wish to represent you as I have great ideas on how I can help both home and international students community. My main idea is to encourage participation, promote cultural exchange and language learning by organizing monthly mini activities fair and promote the Tandem Language Learning Scheme. And of course, I would like to keep campaigning for any issues that will threaten the international community, whatever fall upon me, I’ll do all my best to protect the rights and welfare of the international students.

The Sky's No LIM-it with PEGGY

Afternoon everybody! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far :)

Two days ago, I was being asked, 'Peggy, why did you not mention about the 'post study visa' in your policies?' And this is how I reply:

Well, as an international student from Malaysia, I would like the post study visa to be re-implemented again more than everyone else, because if I didn’t get a job which can sponsor my visa at the end of this academic year, I would have to go back to Malaysia.

The reason why I’m focussing mainly on improving students’ experience, promoting cultural exchange and language learning as well as encouraging students’ participation, is because I believe these do not only concern the international students but also the home students. One day, if my friends from UK come to Malaysia to study, they will then be considered as ‘international students’ in my country and I would definitely like them to have the same experience as I do while I’m studying in UK.

I believe this is a chain-reaction. When international students have a better understanding of the culture and languages in the country, they will then be able to get involved in activities and integrated to the local community. By getting involved, they will learn a lot of new skills which will help with their future employability. And with the skills they learn, they will be able to secure a better job.

My ideas are small but realistic and also have a huge impact. And of course, even though I don’t particularly mention about post-study visa, it doesn’t mean I’m not going to work on this because I care this more than everybody does. Just like one of my policies ‘NO LIM-it to campaigning for international students’ rights’, I would keep working on any issues that will threaten the international community.

Having another great day again before the actual voting going to open, doing my first lecture shout-out today (I was nervous but I think it went well), then door knocking (people are generally so nice and willing to listen) and finally to the Candidates Questions' time (where I make people laugh when I say 'Eyup love' as part of my answer to the question: what are the difficulties faced by international students when they firstly arrive at a foreign country? My answer was the languages and cultures)

The main idea about my policies is that I really want to improve international students' experience especially when they were studying in different countries. This is not only apply to international students but will also apply to home students when they decide to go for a year abroad.

Day 1 of my face-to-face campaigning - Peggy Lim has started the 'Hug The World with Peggy' campaign, which means I'm giving out FREE HUG to everybody!

I love hugs, whenever I can't express something via words especially in my first year, I just give people a hug because I believe hug could break all the boundaries, could eliminate any sense of awkwardness and could cheer people up.

If university work and deadlines are stressing you out,why not come down to the concourse, say HI to Peggy, ask me about my policy, and finally 'Hug The World with Peggy'!
