Contrary to popular belief, Carbohydrates are not the enemy and Insulin isnβt the bad guy when it comes to nutrition and weight fluctuations .
No matter how people fabricate fad diets and tell us otherwise Carbohydrates are the bodyβs primary fuel source and aid our energy levels, muscle function and mood.
Eating faster acting carbs ( sugars/ fruits ) have their benefits around workouts as insulin sensitivity is elevated.
Spikes in your Insulin occur due to signaling from the Hypothalamus however higher glycemic carbs may also cause rapid drops in blood sugars.
Intake of slower digesting sources like oats and wholegrains ) throughout longer periods of the day whilst busy at work and before sleep at night may be widely beneficial.
The hormone Leptin feedbacks when the body has reached a state of satiety
which is secreted during bouts of eating .
This can cause issues if over consumption of food occurs or consistent intake of higher glycemic carb choices are taken in.
The body becomes Leptin resistant and these important signals cannot be transmitted, thus often may result in weight gain.
Simple over eating of the wrong foods and portion control is the real problem, not Carbs or insulin.
Theyβre just doing their jobs as they have done since hunter gatherer times .
A few free tips...
