Domestic abuse impacts countless young people and adults in Sheffield every year. The effects go beyond the immediate victims - 🧍🏽♀️children in these households often witness or experience the trauma too.
* A significant percentage of domestic abuse victims in Sheffield are under 25, highlighting the urgent need to support young people.
* Children exposed to domestic abuse are more likely to struggle with mental health issues, difficulty in school and building healthy relationships later in life.
We Can Drive are determined to break this cycle and give as much support and safety as we can🌱.
💡 let’s keep the conversation going and work together to make a difference 🤍

Wow - what a day! We had our first bake sale at Sheffield Diving’s Santa Skills competition this weekend. 🎄🧁 A huge thank you to all who bought our baked goods, helped set up, and those of you who donated towards our CIC. We’re incredibly grateful, and reached our goal of £100! This is enough to fund a block of driving lessons, meaning you’ve helped one more woman on her journey towards independence 🚘. Stay up to date and donate via our website to help more women in need 🍃 ~ www.wecandrive.org

So how does it all work?
At We Can Drive CIC, we accept referrals from local support services, to ensure we reach as many women as possible who need this most ✨

Who is behind WCD CIC ?
We are two sisters from Sheffield, driven by a shared passion to support women affected by domestic violence. Our inspiration stems from our Mother’s experiences, which highlighted the challenges faced by many women in similar situations. 🩷🌱

We Can Drive: Empowering Women, One License at a Time! 🚘
✨We are happy to announce the launch of We Can Drive ✨A community interest company dedicated to helping women who have experienced domestic violence achieve their driving license, completely free of charge.
By providing access to driving lessons, we aim to remove barriers women often face during and after abusive relationships. Our hope is to see the women who access our support gain an independence that allows them security & wider opportunities. 🌱
We surveyed a group of women to better understand how this would benefit them personally, and they said:
- Access to safety/emergency services
- Wider job opportunities
- Daily tasks (school run, food shop, gym etc.)
- Socialising
- Support services
- Better work / life balance
Every woman deserves the chance to drive toward a future of hope and possibility🩷. Together, we can make that happen.
🔗 Follow our journey here and support the cause by spreading the word, donating, or getting involved. Let's drive change and empower women to take control of their lives.
