It is with great sadness that we announce the funeral of Mick, our Shiregreen Cricket Club Senior Groundsman.

Mick’s funeral will take place at 12:00pm on Thursday 21st May at St Theresa’s RC Church, Prince of Wales Road.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

New Player Signing!

We’re delighted to announce the signing of 𝗙𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘇𝗮 for the 2026 season. A talented middle-order batsman, and a good fielder, he strengthens our squad for the season ahead.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁:
We retain our 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼, 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻 (Mohsin Khan). It’s his 3rd season with Shiregreen Cricket Club.
Last season, he won us almost every match single-handedly.
A superb all-round performance last season scored 703 runs in 17 innings at an average of 46 and took 20 wickets.
A really talented cricketer with a sharp cricketing mind.

Anne and Mary have been a huge part of life at Shiregreen CC for over 60 years, preparing traditional cricket teas every week with care and pride. From hand-baked cakes and fresh scones to ensuring all food is suitable for everyone, their dedication helps create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players.

Beyond matchdays, they also support junior events and club fundraisers, always with the same warmth and commitment. Their love for the club and joy in seeing young people enjoy cricket truly embody the spirit of the game.
